Isn't this priceless...sometimes dumb sounds so cute:
Sixty percent of Americans can't name five of the Ten Commandments, and 50% of high school seniors think S0D0M and G0M0RR@H were a M@RRIED couple. (Cathy Lynn Grossman, USA TODAY)

Where were the religion polls taken? Surely not in public schools where religion is not taught. Why would they even ask these questions in that environment? Granted, the quality of education in America has declined over the last couple of decades, just ask them to find Africa on a map, they will probably point to Europe thinking it's a city in Belgium.

Why do you use the @ symbol for an a? On the ten commandments thing I would have thought the percentage of those who don't know would have been higher. Now about this Sodom and Gomorrah who exactly were they anyway? Sounds like two Heathens to me.

the 10 commendments were good at that time
we need modern 10 commendments
you can't blame kids for rejecting things in a language that would terrify anyone
if the bible won't be rewritten in a modern language and rewrote some passages it risks that in the future to be only a dead book
i think that the church has this moral duty to rewrite the bible, as document in the language of the modern readers

Don't be surprised, when you take God out of their lives they have no reason to know about anything about the Bible or it's lessons. That's the dumbing down process at work and that's why sin is running rampant and they even have this loony tune down south claiming to be Jesus and no one knows the difference.

I agree with trivia ^.. i agree wif u as well on that one.. schools don't teach enough about God... and that's more important than maths..and geography. Pretty pathatic like... Them people obviously havn't given the Bible a second glance if they think S n G were married...gay marriages didn't even exist in them days...

Sodom and Gomorrah was a devastated and annihilated by GOD of Israel in ancient history, where immoral ways of life can be traced on Bible epoch. IT IS NOT A MARRIED COUPLE BUT A PLACE IN DEAD SEA.

I'm guessing they're either not Judeo/Christian, or don't spend a lot of time looking at the Old Testament.

are u talking about christian seniors or non-christian or both?

cause do you really expect someone who doesnt read the bible to know that?

anyway, i know many christians who dont know half of what their bible says. its because so much is put into the church rather then reading the bible.

they think, "oh its ok i go to church and listen to the pastor, hes telling me whats in the bible"

How do you expect them to know about religion unless they are taught at home? They took prayer, the mention of God and Jesus, singing any Christmas songs that pertain to religion, etc out of schools. That was a big spiritual down fall to this nation.
