I don't sit and worry about what was happening to me during the nothingness I was experiencing for the many, many, many, many centuries BEFORE i was born. It wasn't "scary" or "bad" or "frightening".
IT WAS NOTHINGNESS. It doesn't frighten me to think about the nothingness BEFORE i was born.
THAT SAME NOTHINGNESS doesn't frighten me after I die, either.
It is UNKNOWN.
Let's stop pretending that we KNOW what happens after death. WE DON'T. NOBODY DOES. Regardless what pretty picture that any unprovable cult myths might tell us.
Why do christian cultists and other cult groups want us to worry about what happens after we die? Their cult ideas are all unprovable, non-factual... Is it really just to get people into their cult and get their money?

For Yummy (below) -- Sorry Hon. But, christianity is a cult. Look up the word cult at dictionary.com. Please, get an education and try to KNOW what you are talking about, before trying to portray yourself as knowing something as fact, when clearly, you do not. Cheers!

WOW. Already, so many people still leaning on Pascal's Wager. A sad, sad state of affairs when so many cultists still have not pulled their minds out of the dark ages! Please people, educate yourselves! THINK!!

I think you're right on all accounts. The answer to all of it is fear. They're terrified of what they don't know and they can't handle it so they create myth's to help them deal with death and the unknown.
Not everyone is strong and the majority of the population on the planet are sheep. Drives me nuts.

First and foremost...research the correct meaning of the word Cult...as you're using it categorically and incorrectly.
Second, Christians spread the Word of God out of obedience to the Lord, and not because we are concerned with what Unbelievers think, or care if you worry. I personally do not debate or attempt to force the Word of God upon Atheists.
It is your choice not to believe the Bible, or that God promises life after death to saved christians. We are told in the Bible, that when someone has a hardened heart, and refuses the truth after hearing it, shake the dust from your feet and move on, rather than continue wasting time.
A better question might be...why do people such as you, compulsively post in religious categories you don't take seriously, then sit back eagerly waiting for Christians to respond? Why not post questions about something you believe in? Your obsession with this category says a lot.
You'll never catch me searching for a Satanism category, for the sole purpose of debating what Satanists believe. Also, this is the internet, and no one can force any of their beliefs on you. You must CHOOSE to search this category and read the messages, or post questions to ATTRACT Christians.
Again, Christians respond to questions like this, because we have a RESPONSIBLITY and an OBLIGATION to do so out of obedience to God, not unbelievers. The main reason Jesus walked the earth was to teach Christians how to "spread the good news", so that when Christ returns on judgment day, someone like you won't be able to say:
"I didn't know", "No one told me", or I didn't have access to the Bible or knowledge of who you were. It is better for an unbeliever who avoids Christians, and never hears the truth, than someone like you who hangs in the religious category expecting responses. Use your Free Will wisely...as you'll only have ONE life so make the most of it. I'll now shake the dust from my feet and move on. I'm sure you have more questions to post for Christians...as 99.5% of those you have posted, are specifically for us....carry on.

Because what happens after we die is the True life. This life we are living now is only temporary, but when we die, where we go last for eternity. If you don't believe in God and the bible, of course you are not going to believe this. We worry about what happens after death, because, it is what happens when you die. You either go to heaven or hell, believe it or not.

The point is that you can't motivate people to give you power and money without proof or evidence of your claims unless you provoke a sense of crisis and cause their brains to disengage.
Conman: There's an all powerful being that made everything.
Mark:
Conman: You have to do what he says!
Mark:
Conman: Or when you die he'll bring you back to life and roast you alive like pig on a spit forever and ever and ever IN HEYELLLLL!
Mark: EEEEK! Oh no! What do I do?
Conman: Give your social security check to me, god's spokesperson, and you will receive your gift returned a hundred fold."

you weren't nothing, you were an egg within your mother, and egg inside her mother etc.
even though you were a bunch of cells you did exist, and you just hadnt formed a brain yet so you couldn't think. Your brain doesn't unform after death, because it's already there.
and to answer the real question, which i think you know the answer to but oh well: why do they do it? because they want to scare you so you will join them. simple.

I don't know. I suppose they have nothing better to do. It is a waste of time though - no one has proof that what they say about the after life is right.

I don't.
But you will die.
That is inevitable.
Either God exists or He does not.
The difference between knowing that God exists and believing that God exists is that the knowledge is from experiencing God literally and directly, while believing is accepting the logic of what you are told without experiencing God literally and directly.
Those who know that God exists know of the reality that exists beyond death; and know that this reality applies to everyone.
They have chosen to make others aware of this reality because they are responsible to God for doing so.

Because they worry about it all the time, and want others to do so as well. The entire religion is based on guilt and needing to try to get into heaven.
