No I don’t think so. Why would there be a concept of God at all? Most primitive cultures just worshipped the natural world much like atheists do today. God is actually a very advanced concept in civilization. Maybe there is something to it you should consider?

Yes, our brains create religious thought as a defense mechanism against things in life we can't handle. Whether God exists or not - a higher power will exist in our minds in order to deal with the chaos in everyday life. Some people need faith, Christ, God, or what-have-you to lean on when life gets them down. Either that or they wind up going Columbine on our asses.

if god really exists, why are there multiple religions? why did people make up different religions when there is only one god?
