been living in Toronto for 6 months with my girlfriend. she made a new friend recently while waitressing who gave her number to my gal. my gal doesnt have too many friends here as were quite new to canada and gave her a call yesterday. they went out to a cafe. a few hours after my gal got back from being out her new friend called and waffled on for over an hour, i thought nothing of this as these are women we are talking about here. Today, she called again, i answered the phone , i told her my girl wasnt in but we had a chat and she seemed nice. but then she went on for quite a while about herself her life and how she just wants to help the world. she was quite repetetive + i didnt need to speak for her to continue talking.
she said stuff like 'i agree' a lot at the end of her own sentences about spirituality, and she said 'we' quite a lot. i managed to fairly subtley ask about what she believes and she quite promptly said she had to go and sleep. is she in a cult and should we help?

If she is asked to give her possessions to the church, or give up most contact with other people, it's very possible. You need to confirm those things though.

not something scream out cult, yet i did not hear the tone of the communication. Ask your lady pal out and go on your new pal. seem around for clues. confer along with her approximately her relatives. Cults tend to distance contributors from relatives. in spite of if she is in a cult, what are you making plans to do. i assume you may confer along with her and hint on the inconsistency of her perception, yet you're additionally in all probability to lose a pal. you won't be able to kidnap her and deliver her to a deprogrammer. I had a pal that joined a average cult. they did not take that plenty money. could some for non secular aspects and stuff. We purely made a coule of assertion her and there. He left on his own after he have been given unwell from stress.

I think that you would need a lot more information before you could tell is she were really involved with a cult. It seems to me that if she were, and were trying to "recruit" either you or your girlfriend she wouldn't have shut down when you asked more about her religion. Maybe she's just chatty, if you're worried just ask her more specifically about her religion and what their beliefs are. You should get a clearer picture as to whether she needs help then.

Not enough information to make that call. Give it some time and then you will know.

You never mentioned what her beliefs were nor did you state what religion she was in. Therefore I can't help you out at all.

John W, you don't know enough yet to draw any conclusions.
However, you know enough to keep your eyes and ears open
