Well if you take it this way, in order to be consistent one should point out that the worst crimes might well warrant both life imprisonment AND eternal torment. But then you could also say that in some cases being born DOES warrant committing worst crimes AND life imprisonment AND eternal torment. And then again if you take a Hindu perspective, committing worst crimes ALONE might well warrant being born [again], which could lead to committing worst crimes again AND life imprisonment AND being born again - or eternal torment, if the second time you're born as a Christian...
...Nah it's too complicated, I give up.
...But ok, to your original question - unless you invest in Jesus and, obviously, unless the whole story does not apply. ...Besides, if the story does apply, NOT being born warrants eternal non-existence and, personally, I'd rather take the eternal torment.

Sho-nuff, please do not confuse Christianity with christendom.
Christendom is a counterfeit, hypocritical abomination!
It teaches lies, like hell-fire and eternal torment.
Lies. Lies. Lies.
When we die, we simply cease to exist.
No heaven. No hell-fire.
Like a flame when extinguished, it just does not exist, anywhere.
That's the truth.
'Investing' in Jesus (as you put it) means awaiting to be re-made to enjoy life on a paradise EARTH.
Made a paradise by God's hand, not man's.

punishment for sin is death, not eternal torment.

However, the devil hates you.

And being seperated from God after death means he has you.

It's your choice.
