is it not about the sickest thing you've ever seen?

2007-03-07 13:09:04 · 3 answers · asked by Brendan G 4

MAKE UP YOUR MINDS, CHRISTIANS. About half of you have said "mentally" and half have said "physically." Some of you have even said both.

If you can't even agree with each other, how am I supposed to take you all seriously?

Arguements for both:

Physically- if we are physically made in God's image, why are we so diverse?

Spiritually Mentally- if we are mentally made in God's image, why did Eve disobey God? (If she was a perfect being she would have known the snake's evil and firmly refused)

Thanks in advance for THOUGHTFULLY answering.

Why are people skeptical about it, and dont believe that it exists wether they believe in it or not? Why dont people want to be helped, why dont they want to have a better life? And my favorite, why do they believe that money only comes through hard work?

I mean the only choices are obviously charlatans , who prey on the homebound, inferm, and elderly . Without being to name specific , even Christians have to admit these guys are crooks and in most cases heretical in their teachings. Shouldnt God see to it that people like this dont prosper, so as to not decieve the elect and others who may be watching religious programming for revalation or guidance?. People believe that God would not allow the written Bible to be corrupted , However the only source of instruction many people have most certainly is.

I am condemed by you NOT GOD! I am condemned by YOUR BELIEFS! The world is condemned as well as you place YOUR BELIEFS ahead of the rest of the worlds and this goes for ALL OF YOU AND ALL RELIGIONS! I have heard you preach to the world that YOUR GOD IS TRUE! Well baby I DON'T BELIEVE YOU. Believe this though, if you continue to spread the word of men that wrote manuscripts that WERE NEVER PROVEN, Can Not Be Proved, and only BLIND those that would seek REAL ANSWERS; you deliver the world into the hands of evil. Human Evil! What's That? It is IGNORANCE supported by You & Your Religion! Please stop preying on US!

I see it all the time here, a Christian will say "I *believe* in microevolution, but not macroevolution" or "I don't *believe* in the Big Bang" or "I can't *believe* it's not butter"

What does belief have to do with these things? I don't *believe* in Evolution either, because facts are in the realm of evidence, not faith!

I have noticed that a woman I work with (I believe she is of Muslim faith) (she told me once but people are people and I didn't think anything of it) anyway she is allowed to wear a nose piercing at work and I had to remove mine when I started here what religious beliefs would allow facial piercings such as this?

I want to preface this by saying that i'm a Catholic.

Ok... Basically, we have quite a bit of scientific evidence that says the universe is 14 or so billion years old and that the earth is 4.6 billion years old. You know... Things like dinosaur fossils that are over 65 million years old. How can the world be only a couple of thousand years old in that case?!

And if you are a creationist, do you believe and follow everything else the bible says... Have you READ the book of leviticus lately?!

I mean, do you sacrifice pidgeons, doves and lambs when you sin?! or offer up your grain? If you are a woman, do you stay away from men folk for seven days before and after menstruating (apparently while menstruating you are "unclean" according to the bible)???
Do you eat pork and shell fish? Again, a BIG bible no no!!!

It just seems to me that if you believe in the book of genesis to the letter that it would be a bit hypocritical of you not to follow the rest of the bible so closely?!

What a great deal...I'm expected to love him ...I'm "encouraged" to worship him ..... I'm smiled upon to accept him .... or else I go to hell!?!?!

What great choices I see here: either

1.) I kiss God's holy a** for the rest of my life or
2.) I go down rolling in flames?

Awww, that's sweet of you God :). I wish my car dealer was this generous.

And what about the rest of us that aren't Christian? (about 66.2% of the world population. Research it if you don't believe me.)

So God, who created Satan himself, is letting the majority of his creations go to hell? What a darling ^_^!!!!!

i cannot get people to understand my reasoning for the non-existance of free-will, so i thought of a clever little metaphor that i hope you enjoy.

i want you to compare the universe to a story. as your reading a story, doesnt it appear as though at ay point 'anything could happen'? but as you think, you'll know that only one outcome is going to happen, fate. just because you dont know it doesnt mean it's not true right? but the author (god) knew. he knew it the whole time. he knew what the future was and the characters/you did not. (do you agree so far?)

this is where people like to tell me that god knows the future, but does nt control it. to demonstrate that he DOES control it. i'll use another story.

say joe kills himself because his wife died in an earthquake. it would seem as though clearly joe choose to kill himself. but think deeper. this god fellow knew damn well that joe would kill himself if his wife were to ever die so tragically, right? cont. in additional details

The mint sent out coins that didn't have "In God We Trust" on the side and they are selling on eBay for over $150. The ones with God are only a dollar. Does that mean that the rest of our money would be worth more if we took it off all the money?
