just dont really understand why the many people who dont believe in God, actually many of the ones on here seem to despise Him like He is the worst thing ever...well why do you guys answer questions in the religion and spirituality section, or why are you even in the section period if you dont like God or anything to do with him, many of you in fact slander those who stand up for their belief like they should be condemned for it, just very confusing

I am not my sister, I am myself and a very responsible adult. My sister is older and extremely controlling. My mom does not treat me bad or try to control me, my mom is very proud of me and my family. My sister tries to control my thoughts or way of life. I am not irresponsible, I am a very good caring person who makes great decisions in life. She can not stand it when I do not think the same way she do, and she hates it that I do not hold the exact same religious beliefs she holds. SHe does everything she can to control me. I am a free person in a free country able to think the way I want to. THe fact is I am so sick of being insulted and treated as if I am one of the most evil person in the world because I do not hold the strict religious ideals she holds. She is so mean and has been and I cannot take it anymore. I try to stand up for myself in the most mature way and in a nice way but she stills finds ways to put me down. What should I do?

If you need to accept Jesus as you savior to go to heaven, then what happens to people who live in the third world or native americans of the past. Do they automatically go to hell even though they have never even heard about the Christian God or Jesus? (Please do not say people can go and teach them because all that brings is disease and war. Don't believe me, pick a history book).

Sabeans are mentioned in the Koran. Recently I discovered a reference to a "sabean Herasy" in Augustines , "City of God". I have never heard ot this particular herasy nor am I familiar with the nature of the Sabean practices. However, in the 5th century Rome and 7th century Arabia this sect was noteable. In contradiction to Augustine, the Koran welcomes the Sabean provided they too recognize and practive faith in a manner similar to the Koran.

you can't just believe in god and get to heaven, you have to believe in god in the particular form of a man. If it's all the same, what's the difference? God is god, right? Why is it important that we understand and acknowledge every aspect of form of god?

talking to my friend from work about gay people is kind of weird. on one hand he is totally against it and thinks its totally wrong. yet he claims that its ok to be gay as long as you accept god. he believes that gay people shouldnt have rights like normal people, but its ok to be gay?
its ok to have less rights than your fellow humans. well as long as thats what god wants right?
