Why is it that some religious types can accept some science (airplanes, cell phones, television) but not all science (anthropology, archeology, paleontology)?

I am a man of logic and reason I think therefore I am. I believe faith is stupid it asks you to believe without evidence just because you were told it. Science has already proved the bible is false so how do we justify brainwashing our children with bronze age myths. Just to show my superior mind I will explain something the Kangaroo is only found in Australia Noah would of had to have traveled to Australia then dropped them back of there the tale is just silly. I think it odd that a book written by man can be called the word of God and as for morals is it ok to kill children if there fathers do wrong.

But isn't the current evolutionary hypothesis that dinosaurs have evolved into modern day birds? If so, God did not create the birds, but rather, the bird's have a common ancestor going to the Paleolithic era . . a dinosaur.

Atheist, why is it possible for you to believe in the possibility of aliens that have never been seen and there is no proof whatsoever of any kind of alien existence, but you cannot fathom the possibility of God?

Christians, If you say that you believe in God how can you say that you do believe in Aliens when God's word is supposed to be accepted as the truth and he makes no mention of creating any other life forms or life anywhere but Earth?

In case anyone wants to know my person beliefs. I do believe that life exists other than on Earth and it is in Heaven and Hell.

I always assumed Atheism revolved around a core belief that there is no divine being(s), no God. However a friend recently told me that this is not entirely accurate but admitted they were unable to elaborate, as they were just passing on second hand knowledge.

Please can someone define atheism for me, in laymans terms?

I am 15 y.o and I am Christian. For the last months I always think badly about my senior in Churh. Everytime I suppose that he is sentiment with me. I don't know why but I am quite sure about this. For example, I am able to play guitar. I suppose that my skill is just few levels different with his. But he always underestimate my skill and all the time he never appreciates what I can do. Actually I really want to play music at Churh, but nobody offers me the chance to do it. I am too shy to ask for it. One more example, when there are a chance, my senior never asks me to play but ask the other who is older than me but his skill is absolutely worse than me. What God wants me to do in this situation. I ever thought about moving to another Church.

Seriously wikipedia it. I had an open mind until I read about this Hubbard guy and the history of it.

He is quoted as saying that basically religion is the best way to make money.

Apparently this alien called Xenu brought a fleet of aliens 75m years ago which is 5 times older for earth to be than the scientists estimate. Anyway he had to kill these aliens because they were "psychiatrists". The main opponent of scientology is psychiatry.

Hubbard also mad a manifesto that followers should undermine by any means possible anyone speaking out against it. He was a science fiction writer and admitted he made up scientology.

They extort money from people in a cult fashion especially susceptible celebrities who are insecure. They make them feel special and therefore open their pockets and further the cause (as we've seen so vividly lately.

I actually think they have some useful techniques to offer- dyslexia drugs

I want to hear from scientologists as well

ignore us in favor of your own stereotypes. Why won't you listen? Some of you say "Muslim husbands will beat you for being on the computer" when this has absolutely no truth to it at all. Some of you say he controls everything, but he is to give all of the money over to this wife for it is she who does the shopping for the home and she is the queen of the home. He can't even tell her to cook and clean, as it is not her duty. So why do you still refuse to listen? We muslimahs are telling you everyday, but you ignore it and ask "why don't they speak out, they are so oppressed."
