I am a man of logic and reason I think therefore I am. I believe faith is stupid it asks you to believe without evidence just because you were told it. Science has already proved the bible is false so how do we justify brainwashing our children with bronze age myths. Just to show my superior mind I will explain something the Kangaroo is only found in Australia Noah would of had to have traveled to Australia then dropped them back of there the tale is just silly. I think it odd that a book written by man can be called the word of God and as for morals is it ok to kill children if there fathers do wrong.

I should explain why science uses the word theory there are many things we do not jet know the answer to, so people bounce ideas around some go on to become science fact others remain theory`s or get proved wrong. There are many things we may never know but that should not stop the quest to find the truth faith simply stops human advancment

On the contrary....

Science (and archaeology) is proving God to be real every day.

And isn't it funny then, that many scientists are religious. So how can that be? Science has not even begun to unlock the mysteries of the history of mankind. Logic and reason should tell anyone that life can not just happen. What would be the mathematical odds of that? 100 billion to one. At least.

Science has not proven the bible wrong, science has proven that there is much to know and that there is much that will never be known. It is simply not possible to look back in time and even come close to what has happened in the history of the earth.
Floods, earthquakes, volcanoes, dust storms, sand storms, ice ages, and yes the real possibility that it did rain for 40 days and 40 nights, have all caused catastrophic changes that man can not decipher and never will be able to.

A question the other day stated that the Bible was written by people with limited knowledge. And I guess that person assumes that we now have the all knowing, all correct, all ending, knowledge as to all things. For hundreds of years people have have attempted to debunk religion in all forms and still it survives.
No only survives but is stronger now then it has ever been.

And, even if, one believes that the Bible and for that matter all religions are false, what happens then?

The problem with science is that scientists have lost perspective. These are people who say that because there is no way to measure it, it cannot be real. That isn't true. It just means that there is no way to measure it. The scientific method is a wonderful thing and more people should understand it but let's admit that it has its limits. And scientists have their limits. The more they learn, the more they should realize they don't know. But instead, they try to apply their knowledge to realms where they have no instruments. God tells us that the faith of believers will confound the wise. And science has not proved the Bible false. We have a very different understanding of the stories in the old testament than did the people of ancient times. Our definitions are different. The book might have been physically written by people but they were inspired by God. And you have to have a real understanding of what was going on during the times to see the big picture of what God was doing then. Of the ultimate outcome. If you are not willing to sit down with a knowledgeable believer with an open mind, you will never understand.

Just exactly how as science proven the Bible is false.

Please state a reference to that white paper, date of publication, publisher, authors, Library of Congress catalog reference.

When non-believers make such bold statements it only proves who biggoted and foolish atheists really are!

Let's see, the Big Bang theory follows Genesis almost to a T.

Of course that theory DID come from a Catholic Priest, so it was to be expected and that's why Dr. Hoyle tried to defeat it.

Unfortunately that Priest also postulated some things that got proven later on, giving his theory credibility.

Let's see. Jesus restored life with a touch of his hands.

A boy scout restores life with CPR, a touch of his hands.

The only thing is Jesus was doing it 2,000 years ago and we've only figured it out in recent times.

We might figure out that walking on water thing one day!

Science take all the credit, even though JEsus said we could all do it!

Let's see. God Leveled Sodom and Gomorrah with a big blast which turned Lot's wife into a pillar of salt because she got too close to it.

President Truman ordered a big blast to occur over Hiroshima and it petrified things due to the intense heat.

Only God was doing that 5,000 or more years ago.

God's way might have been more effective. Maybe no radiation, just heat.

We don't know exactly, but MAN only that type of power recently.

Man's always far behind God in terms of doing things.

God's a master physicist and was LONG before the science was coined.

Hey, WHERE did ALL THE MASS OF THE UNIVERSE COME FROM.

Has science figured that one out yet.

They can't even decide if PLUTO is or is not a planet. A committee FORCED the issue upon them.

Well, religion isn't needed any more to explain things like the existence of the universe, the rising of the sun and tides of the sea.

The only use it left is making people feel that their lives are worthwhile - and while logic has an answer to that too, it's not one that people are all that happy to hear.

I'm starting to take a really hard line on people who reject science. I'm starting to think that if you don't want it, then you should sell your house, your telephone, your computer, your microwave, your makeup, your car and anything else that scientists gave years of their lives to creating, and piss off into the hills to live in a yurt. We'll see you in three years when you need modern medical science to come to your aid - but that's okay provided it doesn't contradict the bible, eh?

Science more often proves that the Bible is right.

The Bible says all of creation is young (about 6000 years).
Evolution says all of creation is old (billions of years).

Here are a few example to consider of science.

9 - The delicate rings of Saturn. The rings of Saturn are primarily composed of solid ammonia, along with pebbles of various sizes. Scientists are trying to figure out how such a delicate substance as ammonia, which should rather quickly vaporize off into space, could be formed into these equally delicate rings. How could those rings—and Saturn inside them—have been accidentally formed from gas, collisions, or some other such chance occurrence? But, the fact that they exist directs our attention to several age problems:

11 - The meteoroid impact problem. As mentioned in the above quotation, bombardment from outer space is another problem. Those rings should long ago have been destroyed by impact with meteoroid and similar material from outer space.

12 - Even more fragile rings elsewhere. To add to the puzzle, in recent years it has been discovered that there are other planets in our solar system which have even more fragile ring systems. Those around Jupiter, Uranus, and Neptune are even more delicate—yet there they are!

Well, first, you are grouping all those with faith in the boat with the bibical religions - Judaism, Christianity and Islam. There are many more out there that do not believe what you are trying to bash. And there are many religions, although small in number, that have existed for a long time with morals much different then found protrayed in the old testament by God.

I do not believe science is destroying religion as a whole. I believe it is destroying the suprersitions that relgion has within it. Along with other antiquated beliefs that are proprogated as God's knowledge.

You are right - if you are told to believe something, then your faith is meaningless. It is worthless - because it's not even believe in that idea- but instead in the person that told you.

But there are many out there who do believe - by their own choice. And it has to do with looking around. And deciding just how much of this world could have truly been caused by accident.

And where is your proof that the bible has been proved false? You make it sound like all of it has been. I would like to know where you get this from. Just curious.

I am a man of logic and reason. I am therefore I think. I believe faith is a mark of trust, of which you have to have enough evidence to trust in something in the first place. You don't just go and trust people on the street, you need to know them, know they are credible, etc. In the same way you don't just trust in God because you are told to, you have felt and experienced God's existence and because of that you are able to have faith, that is, to trust him, in certain matters. I believe the New Testament is solidly backed by history, and I learned Greek to see if it was mistranslated and I ended up finding more evidence on its behalf, and I hope to learn Hebrew soon so I can comment on the Old Testament.

Forget the Bible - even Christians know it's rubbish and was all written within the last 400 years by he church.

Since the Renaissance and The Reformation when man started to think for himself and not take the word of religion as truth the day of religion has waned. As children we believe what power figures/parents/priests tell us - but once we are able to reason we know that as there is no evidence a god exists then it is just a control measure for the simple-minded.

You know I had never thought of it just that way. But then I had just dismissed the story of Noah's Ark as ridiculous without thinking about it very much. Thanks for passing on that piece of logic. The kangaroo of course couldn't have been on Noah's Ark Yet the bible says all animals were aboard. Some even make ridiculous claims about dinosaurs being on board. Your little piece of knowledge will serve me well. Thanks.

Science is reforming religion to be more in tune with reality - for religion in the end needs to be in agreement with what science finds about the world.

Science may have proved the Bible to be inaccurate...but not completely false. You assumed too much here...which is very unscientific.
