If all you do is have faith, then you can believe ANYTHING!
If you believe that SATAN is really God and you have the Satanic Bible to prove it, who am I to argue with you - EXCEPT -
that let's say that the Satanists all believe strongly that what they believe is the truth, so they start to grow in number and they start to vote and become political - The next thing you know, I AM BEING AFFECTED BY THEIR BELIEF!

Christians are using politics in the same fashion to shove their religion down everyone else's throat! re: Abortion, homosexuality, funding for the arts, a woman's place is in the home, etc...

It seems a great tragesy that so much policy around the world is based so largely on myth!

and yet, so many will respond to this with "I believe in the Bible nomatter what" or "Jesus is not a myth!"

How can we ever hope to end war and gain enlightenment with this type of widespread propensity for unreasonableness?

This question is about book of Genisis 4:1-4:19
Ok so Adam and Eve had two kids, Cain and Able.... Then Cain got mad and killed his brother Able, so God cast him out.
So then Cain when to 'town' and got a wife?
My question is... Where did the town come from? Where did the other people come from?
Am I missing something, I'v read just about every version including the old testiment... but can not figure out this one section. Please help.

i understand that they (the ones in question) are completely ignorant about any other spiritual paths but their own, but why do they not even recognize atheists (those who believe that there is no deity) as human beings? why do they completely ignore the fact that each human could have something of value that others could learn from? not that i want to push something on them, but i'm insulted that they think, because i am an atheist (an eclectic pagan specifically) i believe in NOTHING and have no positive insights or thoughts, and that i'm basically trash.
why do other, REAL christians not stop this kind of behavior? do they not realize it reflects poorly on the religion as a whole, that these people say these things and the rest of their 'group' seems to accept it as okay?

have the expectations of marriage and the role both people play have stayed the same for thousands of years.......why havent the marriage vows changed in line with our highter intelligence and sense of equality.....why is marriage still seen as a form of owning the other person? Does any married couple really understand the meaning of equality? Maybe the divorce rate would decrease significantly if the marriage contract was like all other contracts that could be renewed on a regular basis...maybe it would keep both parties on their toes so that they dont take each other for granted. I really dont understand why non-religious people get married, they dont believe in God/Jesus, yet they get married in a church and take the same vows a believer in God does...it seems pretty hypocritical to me....what do you think? I wouldnt mind some thoughtful answers, and I do read more than a one cliched sentence.

i am a young witch and i will live with my parents for about one more year untill i am 18. well my parents are catholic and they have no clue i have been studing. well i need to tell my parents soon because they think i'm up to something and i don't want then to think i'm doing something illegal. well as long as i have known my parents they haven't been very accepting. they have been tolerant of me being gothic but i'm, afarid if i also told them i was a witch they would put two and two together and assume i was a satanist. so i would just like some suggestions on how to tell my parents about my choice of being wiccan.

I was always wondering why Muslims stone people who commit adultery although nothing in the Quran supports that. Finally, I read a prophetic statement told by Aysha (one of prophet Muhammad's wives) that says that there was a verse in the Quran that set the punishment for people who commit adultery to be stoned. Aysha said that that verse was eaten by chicken and this is why it is not in today's Quran.
