religion in the way taught? Such as someone who believes in God and is very spiritual and is not bothered by how other people choose to believe? I always see christian and atheist questions directed toward each other but what catagory do christians put free thinkers in who are a believer in God in their own way? Just curious?

Most christians are very nervous about those of us who can embrace science/evolution, our own morality, our own life styles, etc., while still professing a belief in god, as we have the gaul to refuse to just accept things on faith, learn about the historical Jesus, and raise questions that there very limited biblical understanding finds them unable to realistically answer. Want to see a fundamentalist babble like an incoherant child? Ask them first if they believe that the bible should be taken literally on all counts. When they say yes, than ask them to rectify for you the two very different stories of what happened to Judas after the crucifiction. One story in Mathew, another in Acts. I have gotten to hear some way seriously fickle things from those who claim the bible is infallible, none of which can be proven using the bible.Enough double talk in the name of god people, lets try accepting the idea that the bible is a book of generally good ideas, but as it has not been updated ( not counting rewrites to avoid such examples as the one given above ) in close to a thousand years. We are god's people, and you are only responsible for your own beliefs and relationship with god. No one on Earth has the right to tell you your beliefs are wrong, and vise versa.

As a Christian I try not to put people into any category, although, if I am questioned I do give my opinion. The atheists questions on here are almost always directed at Christians because we are the majority in our country. Personally, I take it as compliment
that they see us as the greatest evil whereas we simply see them as non-believers. And it funny to me how they start arguments all the time with the intention by trying to get a reaction in which they can shift the blame onto us. It is very amusing to me.

And, as to your question. What difference does it make what I think about what you believe or how you chose to worship or not worship. You consider yourself a "free-thinker" as if Christians are not and can not be. There are many Christian "free thinkers" which is evident by the number of Christian churches today. Although the common thread is being Christian, of course.

Well, as a Christian I believe that the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ. So, I would put all people that don't believe this in the category of unbeliever....no different then atheist, muslim, or whatever.

Christians believe that Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except by me."

In other words, it's a pretty exclusive group. So, if you're not atheist but you don't follow Christianity, Christians will still consider you a "non-Christian" just as atheists are considered "non-Christian."

It's a good question, though. Thanks!

What is the way that Christianity is taught? There a hundreds of denominations and the individuals in those often interpret things differently. Have Jesus in you life. There will be those for whom that is not enough and others who may say that that is not even a requirement. You are in our fold tho, one way or the other.

Christians are like muslims there is just two classes of people.
Those saved indivuals who believe like they do and go to their church or mosque. Then there is the others who are comdemed to hell. So if your a different religion, atheist or muslim or whatever. You got the same outcome hell.
So even if you are in a religon that they are not in it is a cult and your comdemed to death, hell or whatever the bad way is.
Thank goodness we have freedom of religon in the USA or we would be fighting wars like they have in Iraq.
Religious people chill out!

Which way taught. There are many different denominations of Christians that each teach about Jesus in a different way. Then you also have Gnostic Christians and Messianic Jews.

As long as people have asked Jesus in to their heart, I can call them brother &/or sister. If they haven't then I would have to call them lost. It doesn't matter how they follow Jesus but He said He is the Way, TheTruth and the Life.
I don't have a "category" to put free thinkers in. But I do have a friend that is Jewish who doesn't believe in Jesus but we are still friends. Because Jesus is also love and tells us to love everyone.

Depends on the person more than Christians as a group.
