Goddess makes more sense to me since the "creator" of everything should probably be a woman.

To look at the cosmos in a sexualized fashion is to miss the inherent connection between man and nature. As for the Gods, there are many spirits but the Buddha is divine in nature. One must cast off the spells of the spirits on a certain holiday. These beliefs are some of the differences between Mahayana and Theravada Buddhism.

God is not either sex. We just call God by the male pronoun because that's how our ancestors referred to God You could just as easily call God She, or not use any pronoun at all. When we speak of getting to know God and spending eternity with God, it doesn't mean in a sexual way.

I do.
Women, naturally, find the idea of God appealing. It is like the ultimate strong Guy.
I, on the other hand, would find a Goddess more appealing.

To be honest I find the concept of god being a man quite funny considering that it surely instils sexism in christianity believing that a man is the only all powerful being.

I'm not religious, but I have to ask: What difference would God's gender (if any) make? I thought the relationship between God and humans was supposed to be analagous to the relationship between parent and child.

This myth is the story of the Queen of Heaven's descent to the underworld to visit her sister:

Her sister ruled Hell with her enslaved husband. I think it's supposed to be a parable of marriage.

If there is only one diety, and always has been, then the concept of gender, with respect to that diety is inane. Biological gender revolves around sexual reproduction.
Ameoba's don't have gender. Neither would a god, if there was only one and it didn't reproduce sexually.

nope, God isn't supposed to be a sex symbol. Why would you want Him to be? God says He's the Father, and without a human body, that isn't creepy.
