Have you ever claimed to be of a particular faith when you were not? Or said that your faith believes in something that it does not?

Atheists, have you ever pretended to be religious? Why?

P.S. Infrasound is sound that is too low for you to hear. It also might be a cause of some paranormal experiences.

I have found that religion:

-) Inspires fear. Because of hell, Bible is a bestselling hotcake. No-one wants to die, nor family & friends die & roast like marshmallows.
-) Is depressing. People get addicted to anti-depressants & use drugs to escape the future reality (& present) of loved ones burning. This props up drug companies, but kills human productivity & knowledge.
-) Reduces health. Depressed people live shorter lives & don't do as much.
-) Destroys brotherly love. Religions conflict, conniving ministers convince legions of "warriors for God" that real love is destroying sinners (yet, whilst they still sin, being imperfect)
-) Is confusing. No matter which God or Bible you have, it is always the wrong one, & no 2 people ever agree what is right 100%.

Should this continue? Or should religious dogma be used as toilet wipes?

I hear people say things like " The Truth of Jesus Christ " and stuff like that all the time. But is it the Truth? Do they know it because they feel it? Do they feel it because they know it?

I tend to use the word Truth differantly.

I can have Faith that my car will get me to work today.
I can Believe that my car will get me to work today.
I will not KNOW that my car will get me to work today until it actually gets me to work.

And thats the Truth.

It's because too much people is not believing that Jesus Christ gave himself up for our sins, and God is trying his best to stop bad things form happening form the Devil but to much of us is not giving God the power he needs from us to beat the Devil. It's up to pray and believe in them so we could try our best to live how God planed us to live. You are going to have supreme happyness in heaven, why would you mess up on the world and when you die you become the Devil play toy? COME WITH GOD AND JESUS SO BETTER COULD HAPPEN IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW!

I was told in a church last sunday and many sundays before the only thing Satan (Lucifer) did to God was question his authority. If this is true, then are we all damned to Hell?? Christians regularly question their faith in God and are tempted by "evil doings" on a daily basis. If God was this ruthless to Lucifer, then what does death hold in store for us??

Please don't tell me I'm a bad Christian and will be punished for saying these things. I love God and try to live the right way, but I just want to know your opinion.

So, on a daily basis my biggest struggle is having patience with people... I get extremely frustrated with people who are slow to understand or not listening or are generally just hard to be around for whatever reason.

I'm looking for a good verse I can memorize and recite mentally when I'm feeling annoyed by others.... is there a verse about having patience with people?

I know sometimes I can be short in these situations and I would hate for anyone (even the most frustratingly annoying) to think I was rude!

I am a youth leader for my small church in Southern IL. I have a group of youth who all they want to do is have fun. They don't want to serve in anyway. My fellow youth leader and youth coaches are not helping the situation at all. The group is about 10 youth ranging from ages 12-19 and they go from one youth leader or coach to the other and tell all these lies. I have tried to get them involved in so many ways but they all in the end come back and say that they are bored. They do not want to do anything unless they are being entertained. I am just about to give up but I know the Lord is not releasing me. Is there any advice out there. Or am I the only one who is going through this.

If jesus is god and jesus died to forgive our sins and it was god (who is himself) who was doing the forgiving (who is omnipotent) why couldn't god just forgive sin anyway? Also if god created the world and was omniscient doing so he created a world that would have sin in it so he wanted the sin to be there or he wouldn't have created it (or things that encourage it). So god was tortured on the cross to apologies to himself for his mistake? Seems a bit stupid to me.

Will prophecy increase as we get closer to the end?
If your church says 'no, its not for the present day church', what biblical support?

If your church says 'of course', how do you monitor for false prophecies?

If your an atheist / agnostic, no pixie comments (unless they're funny) - can this demonstrate the 'supernatural' for you, and help support a belief in God?

guy posted this site claimed it was the sound of hell...

http://www.coasttocoastam.com/audio/sounds_of_hell.mp3

and that it was genuine.

my question is, where is the evidence of this? who went to hell and with what instrument did he record hell with? how did he take it beyond the grave with him? and how did he bring it back?

need i ask if anyone else thinks this claim is absurd?

(for the person who asked this: as a proclaimed christian shouldnt u refrain from lying ?)

I was reading Wikipedia and it said this:

"Pilate personally felt that Jesus was not guilty of any crime against the Romans, and since there was a custom at Passover for the Roman governor to free a prisoner (a custom not recorded outside the Gospels), Pilate offered the crowd a choice between Jesus of Nazareth and an insurrectionist named Barabbas. The crowd chose to have Barabbas freed and Jesus crucified. Pilate washed his hands to indicate that he was innocent of the injustice of the decision (Matthew 27:11–26)."

So it doesn't seem like he had a choice. If he let Jesus go, then the crowd would probably have killed Jesus themselves.
