So, on a daily basis my biggest struggle is having patience with people... I get extremely frustrated with people who are slow to understand or not listening or are generally just hard to be around for whatever reason.

I'm looking for a good verse I can memorize and recite mentally when I'm feeling annoyed by others.... is there a verse about having patience with people?

I know sometimes I can be short in these situations and I would hate for anyone (even the most frustratingly annoying) to think I was rude!

1 Thes. 5: 14
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

Good Luck in your endeavor. I hope that this might help!

I think others have got the Bible verses covered, so I'll offer something a bit different. About 25-30 years ago as a kid I had a record that I think was called Music Machine. It had a song that went something like "Have patience, have patience, don't be in such a hurry. When you get impatient, you only start to worry. Remember, remember that God is patient too, and think about the times when others have to wait on you."

It's kindy cheesy now, but I think it hits home on the point that we are guilty of the same things that we accuse the people we are impatient with of doing. Kinda like...do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

Proverbs 15:1

The hot-tempered stir up dissension, but those who are patient calm a quarrel.

Proverbs 15 :8 (NIV)

And a whole lot of other Proverbs. Good part of the Bible.

I like Proverbs 14:29 - A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man displays folly.

This verse talks approximately Heaven: "he will wipe each and every tear from their eyes. there will be not extra dying or mourning or crying or soreness, for the previous order of issues has surpassed directly to the excellent beyond." -Revelation 21:4 Edit: Hahaha, I in simple terms observed the guy above me used the comparable verse. :)

James 1:19 My brothers and sisters, be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Your anger can never make things right in God's sight.

I think this is a good verse to remeber whenever you fell yourself getting impatient or angry with someone.
