Okay, I dont believe in god, but im not saying its impossible. And with these questions, im not trying to rag on christianity or offend people, these are just my opinions and views that I often wonder about....

1.If God is so good and kind, then how could he do something as barbaric and sick as sending someone to "hell"? Whatever happened to forgive and forget?

2. How is it possible for one to live forever or be eternal?

3. How can one person monitor every single person on earth and know when they sin?

4. How is it possible to split a body of water?

5. How do you fit two of every animal on one ship? Thats a big ship...

6. I dont understand how Jesus sacrificing his life saved everyone...or whatever it was.

I know that all my questions arent exact but maybe thats because I havent read the bible and im just going by what i've heard. I never read the bible because everything about god and religion seemed physically impossible. I guess I base things around science

Given the TV show on Discovery last night, I just wanted to see if christians would abandon their tale as they knew it, in light of new evidence, or would they still believe that Jesus ascended into heaven (which would have left no bones on Earth).

Hear this verse its from KRS ONE and tell me what you think

This is not the first time I came to the planet

But everytime I come, only a few could understand it

I came as Isis, my words they tried to ban it

I came as Moses, they couldn't follow my commandments

I came as Solomon, to a people that was lost

I came as Jesus, but they nailed me to a cross

I came as Harriet Tubman, I put the truth to Sojourner

Other times, I had to come as Nat Turner

They tried to burn me, lynch me and starve me

So I had to come back as Marcus Garvey, Bob Marley

They tried to harm me, I used to be Malcolm X

Now I'm on the planet as the one called KRS

A theist called in to this Atheist program asking why atheists aren't out raping and killing because our morals are subjective. They answered asking if he would be out raping and killing if he didn't have his divine moral code.
He innocently answered yes, as if there were no other answer imaginable. I can only assume that the threat of hell is the only thing holding this guy back from doing what he would rather do which is rape and kill.
The guy was oblivious to the fact that he was talking to a group of people who didn't follow his divine moral code, and the only person who wanted to rape and kill was the Christian.
I hear the question a lot about our morals, and they all ask it as if raping and killing is what they would rather be doing if only god's pesky rules weren't in the way.
Anyways, the atheist hosts responded by staring at each other in horror and then begged the guy to stay religious.
All I can do is wonder how many other Christians share a burning desire to rape and kill

If Satan's sin was ARROGANCE and PRIDE in thinking that he was as good as, if not better than God, and God banished him from Heaven, isn't God also guilty of ARROGANCE and PRIDE?

I realize there are varying degrees of toleration, but my question to you religious history buffs is when was Protestantism fully allowed in the Republic of Mexico? I also realize that there are still many laws regulating religion, but when was it no longer illegal to practice a Protestant form of Christianity (if ever)?

Well i guess by the churches terms i am Catholic. Obviously my parents had me baptised when i was born and i want to have my first communion. But then in grade 8 i was forced to be confirmed and i really didnt want to becuase I didnt believe in god and i finally realized and figured out that there is no proff. Why do people force u to belive in somethin. I think thats horrible. People say atheist force on our believes. My school said i was going to be kicked out 2 weeks befored garde if i didnt get confirmed. And my parents forced me. Is there anyway I can be unconfirmed. Im sorry if this insults anyone but seriously i truely believe no one hsould be forced in to a religion. I dont believe in God but i was forced to be put through it.

Hopefully not. What about suffering in Hell for that many years and more? Scary that many will make that choice.

My in laws became Mormon a few years ago. I am Wiccan and my husband is agnostic. We were both raised Catholic and after much soul searching came to the paths that are right for us. Since my in-laws became Mormon it has caused a rift in the family. They try to get us to go to church with them, they invited the missionaries for dinner when we came to visit, and slipped my husband a Book of Mormon when they left after visiting. I am really against any religion that pushes their beliefs on others, so this all makes me very uncomfortable. I don't want to be rude, but I worry about the day we have children. I don't think my in-laws really believe that my husband and I don't consider ourselves to be Christian anymore.

Any advice?

God made us all so unique. Some tall, some short, some black and some white. God made straight people and God made gay people and he loves us all the same. He wants us all to have fun and be happy. My sister Monica is an exotic dancer and he gave her a hot body and she went to church and sat next to a school teacher. Everyone can come together and worship. Does not matter if you are a stripper or a doctor and if you are straight or gay. All Gods people celebrate his love together.

assume this means the Christian god, when these very same people go to great lengths to persuade you that everytime you see "God" mentioned in a government document in the Unted States, it isn't promoting Christianity specifically (just some vague "Creator")?

****

(Even if it wasn't specific, it is promoting theism over atheism, but that's another point for another day.)
