I always wondered that. If I cold hear from God more I'd be okay.

I'll be specific.
Moses with the water from the rock, he had to hit the rock twice because of his lack of faith.
Noah, struggled with the implementation of God's plan as well.

Everyone doesn't struggle with some forms of faith.

I have no problem believing that a co-worker I've never met exists if I can talk to him on the phone. If I could talk to god and he talked back, I wouldn't be an Atheist (I might be certifiable, but that's another issue).

The fact that the bible says that Noah and Moses struggled with faith implies that god didn't answer them. They were in the same boat (so to speak) as we are. When they prayed they found they are talking to themselves.

They did not struggle with believing in God. They knew that, which is more than some folks today. They struggled with the problems of life just like us. Moses had a terrible life leading the Israelites through the desert, Complain, complain , complain, for 40 yrs. How would you like that responsibility? You can hear from God today, open the Bible and start to read, ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and truth from God. Seek Him with all your heart, draw near to Him and He will draw near to you. Look for God like you are searching for Gold in those pages of His Word. He'll speak to you.

Neither man mentioned in your question struggled with their faith.

What they both struggled with was their earthly desires and temptations. We are in sinful fleshly bodies and must constantly deny our own lust and desires and thoughts.

Faith is knowing that God exists and both these men knew that. They did not struggle with this. They struggled with personal thoughts and actions that they felt and acted upon knowing that it was against Gods will. The same things we all still struggle with to this day.

Believing in God does not give anyone a sinless temptationless life. It gives us the ability to know when we do wrong and to turn from that wrong, and to continually strive to do better and better at following Gods will and way instead of our own way.

To have faith can mean two different things. Nowadays, when so many people believe that God does not exist, "to have faith in God" is often taken to mean "to belive in God's existance". (Of course, Noah and Moses had no doubt that God existed.) But it is possible to know that God exists, even to talk to God, and yet to find yourself mistrusting him. Think of how we use the phrase in everyday conversation with our fellow humans. How often does someone say, "Don't you have faith in me?" when we hang back from his advice. Or how often do we say, "I have absolute faith in you," when we put ourselves into the hands of a surgeon or a teacher. Our faith in God's presence may be perfect, yet our willingness to "have faith in him" in this second sense may waver at times. Some of us do more wavering than others. Noah and Moses did a lot less wavering than most of us, but they were only human, and there had to be times when they just had a hard time trusting God, when they were not sure they could do what he asked of them, or when they were sweating out the consequences.

I think the struggle may be more with the flesh which all men have to battle .
Galatians 5:17 "For the flesh eth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would."

Because they were human, still born into a sinful world. They are not perfect. But only in God can they become perfect--and it has always been a constant struggle to this day with many and their faith...that is why the Lord tells us to continually seek Him, in word and prayer--to be in fellowship with other believers, because the enemy can easily lead someone astray who is not walking in the truth...the enemy knows we are weak and he can make us doubt, but the word of God is alive and active and is our sword and shield against the devil! That is why we must always be in the word and in prayer! Ephesians 6:16
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
-And that shield and that sword is the WORD OF GOD!

The prophets (peace be upon them ) have to be suffered or to not like by their own society but even though there must be few or some people believe with them and support them.
It also said the great people struggle most then those who are less like them then those who are less like them. They have to struggle with your own lust and Satan.
Different grade as The heaven divide it to different stages each according o his faith and deeds. The best level is for the prophets and those who have strong believe .

Moses didn't struggle with his faith... He was ticked off at the Isrealites because they were complaining in his ear. While God was talking to him, he allowed himself to be fed up with those complaining. This led to his misfortune.

Noah, didn't falter in his belief at all.

Its not that, its the people around them, that caused them to question their own belief. Even tho they knew better. It was the people, who would force their hands to prove ,that they are receiving ,instructions from God. Because, they could not see God. Yet they knew God was talking to moses,
Because of the things he had done, in the name of God. Moses was getting tired of them doubting him. Even tho moses proved from time to time, that he was doing what God ask of him. It wasn't, Moses or Noah, it was the people around them, that would cause them to start doubting themself. Moses got angry, because of their dis-belief, and their complaining. Noah, wanted to be sure it was God who was talking to him. Not that he doubted God or his own faith. Noah just needed to be re-usred. And just ignored the people, once he was sure.

God allows us to have trials and troubles in our lives for a purpose. When we have difficulties, God wants us to rely on Him. To seek Him and to have faith draws us closer. You can listen to God by following your heart. God's word says he will always lead you in the right path.
