The current administration is a welfare organization for the wealthiest and most powerful people and corporations in the world. They're rewriting legislation to make it even easier for those people to get even more money.

One of the ways they do that is by war. Another is by the ways that they spend 'aid.' (The money for Israel, btw, is so that Israel can buy arms made by U.S. manufacturers. It's sort of like one of those money-back rebates in the store. The U.S. government gives your tax money to Israel. Israel gives it to the U.S. arms manufacturers. So guess who's getting rich at your expense. (Hint, it isn't Israel.))

The government is supposed to protect the least powerful from the whims of the most powerful. Your government is selling you out so the rich can get richer.

Finally, an easy question! 'Cause they're ruled by the rich! They're programmed to self-distruct. Jeremiah 12:17 "But if they will not obey, I shall utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the Lord!" They've been fighting wars for the rich, at the expense of the poor for so long that they even think it's the normal thing to do. The manipulate the public opinion through the media till they get away with practically anything they want, why? Because those who might do something to change their destiny are mesmerized by such intelligent persuits as the Superbowl, Barbie, and Emmy/Grammy/Oscar-hype. In the Psalms (9:17 if I recall corectly) it says that "The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God." Did you see someone with an exemption card? Billy Graham once said that if God didn't judge America, He would have to apologise to Sodom and Gomorrah.
So the answer is: if they were to start thinking about the poor and needy -I don't mean token lip service- I mean for real, and helping them, and stopping their horror wars and support of other such regiems that do the same, then their destiny would change.
But they WON'T! Sounds tough, I know, but history has been pretty tough on every "great" "civilization" (what a joke!) that arrogantly and callously oppressed the poor with the sword or at the point of a gun, riding on their backs. Read about "Babylon the Great" who oppresses the poor in the book of Revelation. See who fits the billing. What did Romeo say, " a rose by any other name would smell so sweet.." What a stench!

Don't mistake the gvt with the people. Bush is the worst thing to happen to the United States (possibly the world) in a very long time. He does it because he's not listening to his people and he wants to be known as a wartime president. Instead, he's going to go down in history as one of the biggest disappointments.

its all about balance. We spend tons of money on the poor and education. However is this money spent wisely is the important question. Is the money allocated fairly and then used by good stewards?

Would you suggest we spend no money on defense? That would be just as bad as a mistake to spend no money on education and poverty. Its about the approiate balance and intellegent spending and good stewardship by the ones who recieve teh funds.

good question, like why does the American tax payer give billions a month to israel, while he has trouble paying for health care, or sending his child to university. It is almost like the government is trying to keep people down, while sending your money ( to israel for one ) and jobs overseas ( think China and India ) How do these people get elected, why is there no protests, have people been so conditioned to accept it, like they have been conditioned to pass up American made goods for Chinese...perhaps.

You are wrong; our country gives BILLIONS of dollars in aid to or poor people, andpoor people around the world, every year.

The poorest people in America are better off than most of the people in the rest of the world.

"clean them specially blacks"???

There will always be poor people, in any country. The problem we have is spending trillions protecting the interests of the very very very small minority (super rich folk). The pendulum will swing back, eventually.

POWER & MONEY & CONTROL!!

they don't care about us!
it's all about money.
this war is useless.
The U.s. is going to all these
Middle Eastern countries
because they have oil!! ($$$)
and because they have nuclear weapons,
which threaten the US and their control.
They want the power.
The kill thousands of people to do it,
and use OUR tax MONEY to do it.
We go broke and can't afford gas,
while they sit in their big houses
laughing at how bad off everyone else is.

"specially blacks?"
what about Indians?
Hindus?
Muslims?
Latino/as?
Whites?
Europeans?
etc.

Do your research. We spend trillions on welfare.

ohyeah y, you are showing your immaturity, "why does the American tax payer give billions a month to israel" - The silliness of such thinking. First, they are our ally. Second, we receive more in return for their technology achievements than we EVER give them in aid!

i cannot explain it, as i've asked a similar question myself.

(although i don't understand your comment "clean them specially blacks")

edit: there are protests, btw, many americans do not like this, and are called "unpatriotic" and "unamerican" for voicing discontent, even being told to leave the country if we don't like it.
