If Satan's sin was ARROGANCE and PRIDE in thinking that he was as good as, if not better than God, and God banished him from Heaven, isn't God also guilty of ARROGANCE and PRIDE?

Doug, someone asked a question a while back, "what would it take to get you to believe in God?" I think if Jesus came down and washed my feet, that would pretty much do it. Any way you can arrange that?

Giovanni...I LOVE that name. I am trying to talk my husband into using that name for our next child. Is that your real name or just your Yahoo name? Seriously....I totally LOVE LOVE your name.

Oh...and your question.....Satan wanted to be like God. He was God's favorite angel and very beautiuful. It all went to his head. Many preachers have this same problem today.

Good question!

The opposite of Pride is humility. The definition of humility is THE TRUTH. God is God because he is the beginning and the end of all good. It would not be arrogance and pride to say there was no one better than you if it was the truth. To do otherwise would be a lie.

In God there is no sin. He created the Heavens and the earth and all there-in. Satan wanted all power and dominion for himself but that belongs to God along. If a child decides that he/she doesn't like how their parents run things and decides that they would be better suited for the job, and sabotages the house, job, etc. What would happen to that child? And would the parent be wrong for punishing him/her? (I think not).

Satans sin was turning against God and wanting all the power for himself. The created can not control the creator. He couldn't follow Gods law. A rule breaker, non-conformist.

Isa 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Isa 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
Isa 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Isa 14:15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
Isa 14:16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
Isa 14:17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

GOD is Holy and Just. That is why we can't get into Heaven without the blood of Jesus. Believe and repent.

He doesn't need arrogance and pride. He's the boss. The ruler and in charge of everything.

It wasn't a childish arguement.

God is the father. Period. He reigns. He is the ruler.

He was loving enough to die for you, and wash people's feet. I find that very humble.
