Well i am a Muslim and i not only live in the west but am a westerner, Scottish in fact. As a woman obviously its not a requirement for me to attend mosque for Friday prayer but my husband certainly has no problem leaving work to go pray, its not hard at all.
For all the people above it is done in the lunch hour it is in allocated free time and as such we are allowed to do what we like with our lunch hour. Does anyone say smoke on your own time or do the employees around you who are smokers get time to go out and smoke? Do they get tea breaks and lunch breaks? Do some people go shopping in there lunch hour? Of course they do. If Muslim men what to use there lunch hour to go pray on a Friday how does that affect there standard of work in anyway? Geese people are unbelievable. Get a grip.

I'm living in the U.S.
No, I don't find it hard at all. I'm not in any company or anything, but at college, my professors and dean are perfectly happy with my beliefs. In fact, they even gave us Muslims a room where we can pray without being disturbed! Isn't that very tolerant and loving of them? They are wise enough to know that not ALL Muslims are bad people, and they're glad to have peaceful Muslims attend their college. To us (true) Muslims, God comes before ANYTHING-- including work, school, etc. Without Him, neither would exist. So, we always try to follow His Perfect Guidelines in all that we do. And when I do start working, if my work schedule conflicts with any of my prayers, I'll most certainly leave my work for God, and experience has shown me that I'll always have God's Hands and God's Infinite Hel and Love when I leave other things only to please Him. To me, nothing's more important than He is. Anyone got a problem with that? Keep it to yourself as long as I'm not disturbing you!
Peace and blessings of God be upon you all.
Edit: Sen, good job in telling these ignorants off. Why does it bother you people that we Muslims are serious about our Faith and will practice it everywhere no matter what? The way we perform our prayers are in NO WAY harmful to anyone, so why shouldn't we be able to perform our prayers? I really feel silly saying this, but your responses compell me to say this: Are you people just jealous that we Muslims are much more serious about our beliefs and that our beliefs mean everything to us and that we know 100% that our beliefs are 100% right? Goodness gracious, give me a brrreak!! Besides... in America, there's something known as the Bill of Rights in which the VERY FIRST amendment says "Freedom of religion...". So I wonder what's so hard about that to tolerate. May God give you the honorable ability to be tolerant of others' beliefs, kids; peace be upon you all!

I dont pray on regular basis.. I pray whenever I feel like my heart needing some shelter from God.
But to answer your question... one can pray in the break hours.. without disturbing the office ethics and rules.

Allah loves people who do the the appropriate option element in spite of if there are people who choose them. @Layla- :O i think of which you may desire to shop you faith no remember the place you're and attempt to cajole your father that faith is important to you. could Allah (swt) look after and handbook you.

Pray on your own time or set up an Islamic altar in one of the bathroom stales. Islam is nothing but toilet waste anyway.
