Given the TV show on Discovery last night, I just wanted to see if christians would abandon their tale as they knew it, in light of new evidence, or would they still believe that Jesus ascended into heaven (which would have left no bones on Earth).

Facts? A movie producer finds the lost tomb of Jesus?
There is no DNA evidence- the interpretation of the writings include marks attributed to being buried for 2006 years.
The names mentioned are very common among Jews. Open your mind to the possibility that there could be more than one person with your name in the same country and you will understand this story is just that, a tale from a man who's only agenda is to make money from it.
Jesus rose and lives today- no bones about it-
Be blessed. Love you!

Seriously... watch the news commentaries on that documentary to see if even the non-Christians believe that this was Jesus' casket or family. It was so good to see the archeologists and other "wise" men laugh off this "new evidence." Christians didn't have to take a breath to defend their faith... this was a 2,000 year old burial site of someone too far away from Jesus to even be considered a relative. (Remember Jewish customs of the day, transportation of the day, and exactly what the Hebrew inscription said)...

But I can answer your question in one way: If you discovered that your parents had never been born, would you believe you existed or even could think? This question is as far-fetched as yours.

Of course, Jesus did not physically ascend to heaven. Whether or not the evidence you saw is real or not, doesn't matter much.
Heaven is not a physical place, exactly, anyway. Even for Jesus only his soul can make that trip.

Not Jesus' bones. Jesus rose to life and ascended to heaven. If they were Jesus' bones (which of course they were not :) ) then Christianity is false because it is based on the facts that Jesus was perfect, died bearing the sins of the world as our sacrifice to reconcile man to God, and rose again defeating sin and death. If they were his bones, ha yeh right funny archaeologists, then it would prove Jesus wasn't God.
