I was told in a church last sunday and many sundays before the only thing Satan (Lucifer) did to God was question his authority. If this is true, then are we all damned to Hell?? Christians regularly question their faith in God and are tempted by "evil doings" on a daily basis. If God was this ruthless to Lucifer, then what does death hold in store for us??

Please don't tell me I'm a bad Christian and will be punished for saying these things. I love God and try to live the right way, but I just want to know your opinion.

My belief is that Satan did not just question God's authority, but openly rebelled against it. We question God and are tempted because we are human and a veil is drawn between us and the Father --- this does not make us evil, nor does it condemn us to Hell, as Christ died and made an atonement for our sins.

You're not a bad Christian at all, you're trying to understand and develop your faith. :) God bless!

Unlike God, Satan hasn't always existed, nor is he all-powerful and all-knowing the way God is. And someday, every power he does possess will be taken from him, and he will be cast forever "into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels" (Matthew 25:41).

The Bible doesn't answer all our questions about the devil, and we must be careful not to go beyond what God has told us in His Word. Nevertheless, the Bible indicates that originally Satan was one of the angels God created to serve Him. But Satan became envious of God, and decided to rebel against God and try to take His place.

His rebellion was unsuccessful, however, and he was thrown out of heaven: "How you have fallen from heaven... You have been cast down to the earth" (Isaiah 14:12).

Never doubt Satan's reality—and never doubt His ability to deceive us or bring evil to the human race. His single goal is to block God's plans, and he will do everything he can to keep us from God. Jesus rightly called him "a liar and the father of lies" (John 8:44).

But listen: Satan is a defeated foe! By His death and resurrection Christ overcame Satan's power, and someday the final battle will be fought and Satan will be defeated forever. Are you on the winning side? You can be, by giving your life to Christ.

God made the angels knowing good and evil. Not only did the devil question God's authority, but tried to make himself equal to God and deceived 1/3 of the angels to follow him.

When God made man, He made him knowing only good. The Bible clearly states that we all deserve hell (Rm. 3:23;6:23), but God seeing our condition and that not out of malice did man disobey him, He in love decided to make a way for us. He died for us on the cross and proved His power over the Devil and Death by ressurecting from the dead three days later so that as He lives you (the world) may live also. We just need to accept His free gift and do what the Bible tells us to do, because..(paraphrasing)"whoever calls me Lord and doesn't do as I say is a liar" Read Titus 1 and the book 1st John. Well.......as ur sister....I'm not sure. Ummmmmmmm........since Satan questioned God's power......God had to kick him and his followers out of Heaven forever,so that they wouldn't try to over take God. Satan thought he was GREATER than God and that he should be the lord over Heaven and Earth!! And....the Bible says: The wages sin is death, but the give of God is eternal life though Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:23). But this means that sin entered the world and because we're human we fall into that sin/temptation easily, so the ONLY way out of the Pitt of Hell was/is through Christ (when He died on the cross)..... now the reason i think that Christians may doubt their faith in God and are tempted by "evil doings" is because of Satan (and in all his evilness), he tries to make us doubt so we fall - meaning we CAN'T be with God, and that is exactly what Satan wants to happen since he wants as MANY people as he can to go with him into Hell so that he doesnt have to suffer alone in Hell forever and forever...

Hope this helps!!!!!

O honey, I do believe you have a case of the "Sympathies for the Devil".............

Whatever church you are attending that "taught you that"-------------->>>>> LEAVE IT! Because they clearly do not teach according to the INERRANT WORD OF GOD!

There is so much more to the story than what you heard. Satan not only "questioned GOD's Authority" but said to GOD that he (satan) would set his throne high above the Lord's.

Think this one over carefully.....what do you do, say if you CREATED a being, and he was your 'favored one'--then one day he approaches you and COMPLETELY ---WITHOUT THANKS for his very existence and standing in exalted placing...says to you:
"I will REPLACE YOU!"//////
You know you would eliminate him, banish him from your dominion!

* KNOW YOUR ENEMY! *People NEVER take into account just how much HATE Lucifer has for US; the Lord's beloved CREATION! And even FEWER actually believe this evil realm exists! How very damaging, aye?

ALSO.......KNOW THAT Lucifer was moment by moment in GOD's presence and daily beheld HIS GLORY. WE are judged by a different standard honey, an entirely different standard....bc' the LORD made provision for our salvation through the GOSPEL OF JESUS! The Lord allows us; BECAUSE HE has GIVEN INTO OUR CONSCIENCES: F R E E W I L L~~!!!! Blessed are THOSE WHO believe; even tho' that have yet to see HIM. "Satan, Lucifer, Belial, Beelzebub", (and his many names, as he is many faces)......HAS NONE, WILL NEVER AGAIN, and CANNOT BE EXCUSED FROM WALKING in such PRIDE, as to presume that "the created (satan) can pridefully exalt himself above GOD (the Creator of satan)!.

Go back to that church.....(YES! the one I advised you to STOP ATTENDING)...and ask the preacher to ACTUALLY SHOW YOU; IN the WORD OF GOD, the HOLY BIBLE...."where" they came up with such a conclusion. I can almost bet you, that he or she-whomever it is..will not know where to find it in scripture. Per-chance they DO>>>>? Check it up against the opinions of atleast 2 or 3 other pastors or evangelist's that you trust.

Satan deserves NO SYMPATHIES....he is the chief LIAR and deceiver...and has been the culprit to many evil doings. He has one goal, and that is to steal, kill and destroy the people of GOD.
I pray you receive some discernment on this one; as getting caught up in NON TRUTHS will inevitably be a good headstart to a rapid decline of moral discernment.

GOD BLESS YOU AND ILLUMINATE THESE TRUTHS TO YOU THRU PRAYER AND THE READING OF THE BIBLE; seek a church that focuses all its messages on the HOLY SCRIP!

I don't think it is a question of being a bad Christian, it is a question of your not understanding the evil of Satan. God made him to be a beautiful creature, he held a high place in authority in Heaven. He rebelled against God and hatred grew in his being for anything about God. Can you imagine if someone tried to over take say the President of the USA, by means of rebellion, say someone like Saddam. We must understand as Christians that rebellion against God is no small matter. Only God knows what is the absolute best for us, He created us, how could we trust the one who tried to over take our Creator with a spirit of rebellion, how could that be good. God gives you the option of worshipping Him, Satan would make you. We are not damned to Hell, Jesus died for you and your sins are covered by His Blood, you are free. Yes, we have all questioned God and felt unsure but it pales in comparison to what Satan did.

Satan rebelled against God and his authority. And he did question it also. but he took it a step futher, and try to over tho God. Just as a person would try to overtho. a kingdom, which is not his to rule. Satan, was second in command, sort of speak, and he felt he was to good to do what God ask. In other words, he let his pride, get the best of him. He felt he could take over Gods throne, and rule the kingdom(Heaven)his way,
Just as if you was to try and overtho your parents, and rule the house ,the way you see fit. because you felt ,you was old enough to do it.

Lucifer was one of Gods angels. He not only questioned Gods authority but also waged war with God for supremacy over heaven. So all thso who were with Lucifer were cast out of heaven (fallen angels). Many men in history questioned Gods judgments. They were spared.
As long as you believe Jesus died for you; if you have an honest faith in him than you have gained eternal life. All your sins will be forgiven you.
God Bless...

This is just as unfair as man burning in hell forever from on finite lift time of 80. The thought of such a terrible deal sits in the camp of evil and injustice. Only a man can come up with such insanity.

No wonder there is man's inhumanity towards man. Religion teaches man evil, injustice, and unfairness is justified because God operates the same.

That's not true. Satan tried to overtake Heaven, that's why he and 1/3 of the Angels were banished to Hell.

Sounds like you're in a cult.
