I was reading Wikipedia and it said this:

"Pilate personally felt that Jesus was not guilty of any crime against the Romans, and since there was a custom at Passover for the Roman governor to free a prisoner (a custom not recorded outside the Gospels), Pilate offered the crowd a choice between Jesus of Nazareth and an insurrectionist named Barabbas. The crowd chose to have Barabbas freed and Jesus crucified. Pilate washed his hands to indicate that he was innocent of the injustice of the decision (Matthew 27:11–26)."

So it doesn't seem like he had a choice. If he let Jesus go, then the crowd would probably have killed Jesus themselves.

Sounds pretty accurate. It doesn't sound like he is guilty of murder.

his wife had told him he must not pass judgement on this man(Jesus) because she had had a dream that had frightend her.
prophecy of the messiah foretold his rejection and sentence by his own people.so perhaps the dream was a way of putting him off from making a judgement intended to be made by the jews.

by law he washed his hands of the matter.and allowed the Jews to choose.so he did not condem Jesus ,but as far as right and wrong go he allowed a man he knew to be innocent be executed.ie cared more about himself than truth.

Yes, Pilate was guilty of punking out. He had a choice... And sent an innocent man to death. But that was how it was meant to be. You and I sent Him to His death as much as Pilate did.

As for your recent email message: "That's just your skewered perception of looking at anyone who disagrees. Another idea you are forming is that because my views aren't as Left as yours, you think I'm stupid and lack a proper education."

The word is "skewed." And, no, I don't think "anyone who disagrees" with me is stupid or lacks a proper education. I certainly do think you, specifically, lack a proper education though. If you're going to be a racist or post racist questions, at least admit it.

And was Shaka "as good as the British empire?" If by that you mean "as big," clearly not. Good is a separate thing altogether. Other empires for you to look up: Cush, Ethiopia, Mali.

The one thing we agree on is "soon times will change."

The judgment to punish Jesus came from the Jews. They opted to take Barrabus over Jesus.

Pontius was guilty of succumbing to the fear of a lesser king (Cesear) than the King of kings (Jesus). All in all, he did what everyone knew he would. That's the only thing he is guilty of.

He found no guilt in Jesus, yet he condemed him to death. Is this right?
He is guilty as sin.

yes, he was guitly of sin:

Jhn 19:11 Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power [at all] against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.

He was guilty of fearing "man" more than "God" - something many are guilty of today.
