1 Peter 5:7-until the end of the chapter.
Love it! This is what helped me get over my break up w/ my bf...and he restored himself to me. It also helped when i went through a time of struggle with my relationship with God...
All I can say is trust, and every day make it a priority to pray and read the Bible. Maybe get a devotional to help? If you are a teen, get Devos 2 by Susie Shellenberger...this is what i am using.

God has a way of bringing an inner comfort to a person, it is difficult to explain but I have experienced this many times in my life. At a time when I should have been "falling apart", I have felt a very strong inner strength rise up in me after prayer. I have had people come into my life that came to my aid unexpectedly, with food, money, clothes for my kids. When I lost a dear friend and had sleepless nights I would call on Jesus and go to sleep like a baby. God comes in many ways, one must keep their eyes open to this wonder and realize there are no coincidences.

Hi NI Kid, i think angel has given you a good answer...
God understands what we go through and He strengthens us in times of trial. Family is usually a good source of comfort but a chance meeting with a stranger just saying the right thing at the right time can lift our burden greatly.
Sometimes God puts just the right person in our lives to support us through sorrow, disappointment, health issues and so on. He often uses pets to comfort us and pets can give us a reason to live when we feel there is no hope. good luck with your course.....w

Id like to start by saying sorry elle how does "god" come through in friends and family when they don't believe in him???
"God" i believe doesn't comfort us in times of need, just look at all the starving families and the under privileged too, what kind of comfort is "god" giving them??
We give each other comfort out the kindness of our own hearts. we choose who we comfort and when to do it.

I think this comes down to a question of faith. If you have enough faith in a God then he will protect you when you need it most, and you will feel comfort in the fact that he is there for you.

Gives us hope of something better to come?
Gives us something to work towards, stops us settling for less then the best ( will be different for every one).
Belief seems to be a comfort in its self for some people when facing sickness, death etc.

I believe it is different for everyone, so no one answer to your question .

its nice to think theres something there but there isnt
in times of need you might feel that theres a greater power looking over you and maybe that will make you feel better
but its only real people who love you can help you through the bad times

We comfort ourselves in the belief of a kind God who could hear our cry for help.

2Co 1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
2Co 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
2Co 1:5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
2Co 1:6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
2Co 1:7 And our hope of you is steadfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.

He gives us strength to make it through difficult times. Sometimes when I pray to Him I can feel His presence comforting me, especially in difficult times. He also comforts us through family and friends. God also never gives us more than we can handle.
