I wouldn't recommend it. Don't play with snake handling. It doesn't work unless you are at a service (Pentecostal with Signs Following type) in which it is done regularly, and you do it *because you are moved by God to do so*. People who doubt and are fearful *will* be bitten, and those who handle snakes without being compelled to by God *will* be bitten. Those who have no fear are less likely to.

Personally, I think that there are much safer way to explore your faith. If you want to know more about the snake handling sects, check out Serpent-Handling Believers by Thomas Burton. It's an excellent book that describes the beliefs surrounding snake handling and the culture of the people who do it from a respectful, anthropological perspective.
