No, that's an old myth about them having dug a big hole, put a microphone in, then hearing screams. It's not true.
I'm Palestinian, and according to our legends there is a mouth of hell in Jerusalem outside the old city. You can visit it. The british built a concrete bunker around it, so you can't go in it anmore, but when my grandmother was little, you still could, and weird enough sh^T happened that the British built there thing there. The Jews believe that too. I've been there, it was spooky, but nothing bizarre happened.
The Jews also believe the Cave of Machpela, which used to be a mosque until some Israeli soldier went on a rampage and shot the sh&t out of everybody in it, is a doorway to your afterlife. If you would go to hell, it takes you there. If to heaven, it takes you there. It's a freaky enough place, that we sealed off the stairs, the British were going to reopen it and didn't, and the Israelis also won't reopen it. Freaky.
