It's because too much people is not believing that Jesus Christ gave himself up for our sins, and God is trying his best to stop bad things form happening form the Devil but to much of us is not giving God the power he needs from us to beat the Devil. It's up to pray and believe in them so we could try our best to live how God planed us to live. You are going to have supreme happyness in heaven, why would you mess up on the world and when you die you become the Devil play toy? You are being silly. God has infinite power. He could stop the devil in his tracks with his pinky finger (does God have a pinky finger, I don't know...) However his will is all this should happen so we can get it into our thick skull that no human government is going to save us. For the past 2000 years we have been putting our faith in our governments, instead of praying and voting for the Kingdom of God. After Judgement Day, there can be no one who still thinks we would be better off without God like Adam and Eve did. He allows bad things to happen, he has released the devil upon the earth to wreak havoc, but we also, we humans, in 100 years have devastated our own planet. This is all prophesized by Jesus, who spoke of the last days. God is certainly not waiting for humans to give him 'the power he needs'.
