Someone told me it is written in the Bible about keeping your house clean and organize at all times. What scripture is that? I heard of a saying that goes like this, "Cleanliness is next to Godliness." Is that the scripture in the Bible. If you know then please tell us. It will give us more incentives to be more organized. I don't know if God even mentions that. I know God mentions about keeping your body clean, but the house, oh well I don't know.

Does anyone know if back in the late 1930's and 1940's, if a wife was committing adultery, and then got divorced, would the adultery be enough to have her children taken away from her and custody given to the father?

christians holy day is on a sunday because the pagens worshipped
the sun god on this day there symbol for this god was a triangle which christians have adopted as there symbol for the trinity.
why do many christians claim to worship the god of abraham when they infact worship a small star that our planet evolves around and a false prophet named jesus.
only the jewish people worship the real god and no the seventh day when god rested was a saturday.
it makes me laugh when christians say muslims worship the moon because they dont realise they worship the sun.
there is only one god and he is the jewish god.

I was hoping I could beg a few of you to answer a general survey pertaining to this section of Answers.

Yes or no answers are fine for questions 2-6, but I would prefer you elaborate.

1. In the simplest terms possible, what do you believe?
2. Do you consider yourself to be more moral than the average person?
3. Do you consider yourself to be more intelligent than the average person?
4. Are you ever racist, sexist, ageist, and otherwise prejudiced, even unintentionally?
5. Is it fair to mock or give an angry reply to someone on this board if they insult your beliefs or otherwise bother you?
6. Are you superior in any way to people who believe something other than what you personally deem the undeniable truth?

Thanks!

Having kids without being married is something that is often frowned upon.

I personally don't see how marriage is important, if you want to spend the rest of your life with someone, why do you have to get married to prove it. It is a nice way to show your love though.

Do you think without religion that having kids out of marriage would be frowned upon?

If you ask a Christian why so many bad things have been done in the name of their lord, they will say the perpetrators (i.e. conquistadors, Puritans) were not true Christians.

And they also tell you constantly Jesus died for the sins of humanity, and that if you are a sincere Christian God will accept you in heaven.

Now that that's established,
Didn't anyone ever think that those perps were FAR MORE DEDICATED CHRISTIANS than anyone alive today. The conquistadors truly thought they were saving by enslaving. They were far more dedicated and far more believing than anyone today. You can't say those true Christians, the ones that crusaded and slaughtered, were not forgiven, while the pansies today whining on YA are forgiven. If anything, God would have welcomed Cortez, according to the fundies. They were true believers, right down to the last drop of blood. Proving Christianity is an extremely violent religion.
I know I know, it's hell for me.
How many does that make it?

I was raised southern baptist and never doubted my religion until I was old enough to realize that there are thousands of different religions. My uncle recently started dating this girl who is jewish, so I was interested in that religion and started looking things up. So, now I am stuck between those two religions because they both sound true.

Im not sure what I am asking, but I would like to hear other peoples advice, and maybe help finding some good websites.

Thanks!!!!

Some say God is called Yahweh, others say he is called Vishnu, others say he is called Allah...

Some say you have to worship on Sunday, others Saturday, others say every day....

Some burn incense, others burn candles, others burn crosses on people's lawns....

Some say there is one god, others say there is a one-in-3 god, others say one god with many incarnations, then the others say there are no incarnations...

How is anyone supposed to believe in God when nobody has their story straight?

Surveys have shown the atheists are trusted less then muslims, foreigners, or gays.
Why would you trust muslims over atheists? They preach hate and death to anyone who isn't one of them.
The most and atheist will do to you is get into an argument, and that's about it.
I just have a hard time understanding how you can prefer someone who wants you dead to someone who simply disagrees with your beliefs.

Creationist claim that God created all living things as they are today. Nothing evolved from something else and nothing changes in responce to its enviroment. Evolutionist claim that everyliving thing is changing to survive. Here is the Proof.
When Christians first stood by the creationist beliefs they were unaware of the vast world of living single cell organisms called Viruses. The problem with proving evolution is that it take millions of generations to see the effects. Viruses reproduce so fast that millions of generations can be seen in weeks or days. Viruses evolve before our eyes to form new species/strains that will resist the medication trying to kill them. Change the meds the Viruses will evolve to become resistant to the new drug. This is impossible under creationism. These new species of viruses did not not exist until today and they are evolving into newer species everyday in order to survive in the face of meds trying to kill them.

now I was known as the heavenbound maverick, or hbm, but although maverick means a noncormist, or individualist(although I still rely and praise God), it doesnt fit with the first two words, so here are some of my qualities(please post some logical nicknames or titles, not names like strechyman, if you get what I mean)

.evangelical christian
.very flexible physically, and can do agile things
.tries as much as possible to live my life for God
.tenacious
.pugnacious(when it comes to sports and video games, not in a hateful way, but a competitively enduring way).

.can get along with people.

and that so far is what I can think of, and also plz if you can, pick one of these old nicknames that I once had, or the one above, and why or why not to go with it if your stumped yourself of making one.

ecclesiasties, maven/or mavin. (may be continued)

The word "arrogant" is a tool of intimidation amongst the religious. We all detest arrogant people, or are trained to anyway.

ARROGANCE is almost like the word "pedophile", in that, the moment someone slaps it upon you, know one else cares to examine whether it fits, the stigma or perception is immediate.

When we question God or religion, in front of the religious, how can we do this without being arrogant, after all, what more arrogant that questioning God!

Theres simply no way to do it with out being arrogant. If I smile and talk kindly, I am condescending, the worst form of arrogance. The major religions all have verses that condemn disbelievers and engender hatred for them.

In Islam, to be called "arrogant" is almost like a death sentence, your biding your time. Its a word of intimidation, thus wiser people hesistate to open their mouths and the circle of ignorance perpetutates.
