That question sounds pretty cruel. I mean, on the face of it, I certainly wouldn't. My father and mother wouldn't, either (just for kicks, though, I'm gonna tell dad I don't love him next time I see him and see if it gets any hotter). Now, I'm not really a Christian (not a good one, anyway), but I'd like to bring up a few clarifying points.
I think you misunderstand the nature of Hell in Christian theology. It's not really, technically speaking, a place where you're "sent". Look at it this way - if we are indeed theofacts, or creatures made by God, then our ultimate good (Heaven, if you will) must lie in God - in rejoining Him. If one refuses to subordinate his will to God's for this purpose, there isn't really anything else that can make a Heaven for a person - if happiness lies ultimately in living in accordance with God's will, and a person refuses to do so, there's no possible way for him to ultimately be happy (i.e. exist in accordance with the will of God). Another way doesn't exist. That's more likely what Hell is - a creature, shut up within his own ego, refusing the one thing that can make him happy. He's not "sent" to hell; there's a path to happiness, and it's God; God has no other path to offer.
Again, I'm not very religious, but I have a passing interest in theology, and that's the very basic view I have of it (not written in a very well-ordered manner, of course, but this is yahoo answers, after all, and not a seminar paper).

I sure hope this is someone trying to get a reaction to their question instead of a mother who really feels this way about her child. My kids were not always angels as they grew up but they always know I love them and they love me. Thinking that they would go to hell when they die is the most horrible thing I can imagine and I pray for my kids and grandkids every day that they get their head on straight regarding their spiritual direction. I really hate to say this to you but if you can say such an awful thing about your child you don't deserve to be loved and being that evil of a person I'd be surprised if you were loved. You have some big time work to do on yourself. I don't think your child will have to wish you to hell but that you'll get there on your own. My prayer for you is that you get an attitude adjustment quickly.

Is this supposed to show that God is heartless?
Let's see...
God is perfect. He created us perfect. Then man sinned. God couldn't be with man anymore. So instead He sent his only son and let him be crucified so that we could be spared from eternal death.
Then come people who don't want to believe in God and Jesus. They don't want to be saved. But when it comes time for them to be sent to an eternity...they go to Hell.
God loved us enough to die for us. Doesn't that show something? He kept the Bible alive..made sure people heard about it. Sent His Holy Spirit, and then people still didn't believe. That is really ssad. You're right...they don't love God.
I'm not sure what you're trying to say. If you're a Christian, then sorry. But man...people who aren't need to see how much God loves them.

Let's examine Harris & Klebot (Columbine High School Massacre).
They both had a mother & father. They both were educated well (public school standard well anyways). They both rejected their parents, & society. This rejection caused them to self-destruct and to take a bunch of happy kids with their self-destruction. It wasn't that their parents sent them to hell, but they drove themselves there at lightning speed like a "moth to a flame".
So, you can now philosophize how their parents feel about them.

Of course not. If I, as a parent, have the ability to stop my child from experiencing unreasonable pain, I will do so.
Granted, if my kid is doing something stupid that's going to cause him a little, temporary pain, something he should know better than to do, I probably will let him do it and get hurt. Life experience can be a POWERFUL education.

You don't have to love God to get out of hell, you need to trust Him. Jesus paved the way. Its all about Jesus. God the Father is foremost concerned about what have you done with His Son? If Jesus didn't love His Father, none of us would have a chance.

If it is that bad you need to reevauate yourself. How did it get to that. You should never with that upon anyone, not even you ememies. What ever happened to forgiveness? How was your childhood and imagine if your father or mother felt the same, are you insane?

No. And what you're talking about is more like fathering a child and then leaving them and expecting them to love you.

Why would you want an ingrate bum hanging around your house for all eternity whining and complaining about how unfair your rules were while using your stuff?
