It is a general observation that women tend to believe in God and religion far more than men, why is it so?
Females out number males in this area, any reasoning?

Hi,

I understand that faith is considered to be the most important attribute for a person to find religion and God and Truth and that it dwarfs reason and logic. Ok - Fine.

But take two sincere, well meaning people of deep faith in two different religions - How does one person say that their faith is superior to the others?

Examples could be Christians vs. Muslims or Catholics vs. Protestants or Jews vs. Hindus or Mormons vs. Lutherans.

What makes you know that your faith is better than anybody else's?

Archangel is between Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, and Azriel. And why? Mine is Uriel because he is so strong and powerful. Plus he has eyes that make angels, demons, and humans quake.

I'm a Christain and very proud of it, but how dare you (and you know who you are) group me together with every other Christian out there. I don't judge every black person on the entire race, nor the muslims OR any one else for that manner. What is the deal with these whiny, angry people on here that want to blame all their problems on one group of people. Get to know someone before you throw them into a group and judge them!
How do you feel?

Why should a person have to be afraid of going to "hell" in order to believe in God?

I asked this question before but I phrased it, "Do you think more people are born Christians and turn atheist or the other way around?" but about 80% of the answerers tore me a new...ya know...saying that no one is born anything. I know that. I put in my details indicating that I know that. I got several thumbs down and a ton of nasty answers. PLEASE READ THE DETAILS. This question isn't intended to offend ANYONE. I don't understand why so many people were rude to me when they didn't read the details. I just mean do you think people are born and RAISED Christian and then decide to turn atheist or are more people born and RAISED atheist and then turn to Christianity. If you need clarification, just say so and I'll try to clarify it before you just start saying nasty things.

The word "Islam" is an Arabic word which means "submission to the will of God". This word comes from the same root as the Arabic word "salam", which means "peace". As such, the religion of Islam teaches that in order to achieve true peace of mind and surety of heart, one must submit to God and live according to His Divinely revealed Law. The most important truth that God revealed to mankind is that there is nothing divine or worthy of being worshipped except for Almighty God, thus all human beings should submit to Him.

Islam teaches that true happiness can only being obtained by living a life full of God-consciousness and being satisfied with what God has given us. Additionally, true "freedom" is freedom from being controlled by our base human desires and being ruled by man-made ideologies. This stands in stark contrast to the view of many people in the modern world, who consider "freedom" to be the ability to satisfy all of their desires without inhibition.

There have been things happening in this world since the beginning of time that are too horrible to even imagine. One example: A few years back, two ten year-old boys took a two year-old boy they didn't know from a shopping mall when his mother turned her back and brought him out to a deserted area and tortured him. They shoved things inside him and beat him severely and laughed as they were doing it. The whole time he was suffering, he was crying and begging for them to take him back to his mother. Then they laid him on the railroad tracks so that a train would finish him off. This is ONE example of the billions of unimaginable horrors that go on in this world. And yet you sit there and pray for little Billy to get an A on his report card. WHY IN THE HELL would God even hear you, much less give a crap about you or ANYTHING you're going through if he is letting things like this happen on a constant basis?

I was wondering what the general Christian thought is on the Holy Spirit. I was taught that it is, esentially, our conscience. That little voice that tells us that what we're doing is wrong, and that it is with us from the moment we're born. Or maybe it provides our conscience. Is this about right? Oh, and this is its main function as a member of the godhead.

I was less clear on the unpardonable sin. To my understanding it is committed when someone denies their conscience, denies the Holy Spirit, over and over for so long, that eventually it stops trying. Are there any alternate views on this?

I saw a Christian music commercial and one song was about how amazing the love of jesus is. Im not saying I do or dont necessarily believe but I feel I give Jesus and God more credit than the average Christian(which I used to be). Whats so amazing about a love with so many conditions, many being ridiculous and being expected to have faith on something that cant be proven and if these conditions arent filled out you burn for eternity? Hows that for forgiveness and unconditional love and mercy? Near everything is a "sin". And isnt it egocentrical to say" Believe me to be the best or youll spend eternity in a fire with demons"? Sounds kind of dramatic to me. I dont have the fear of God in me. I dont need to fear God because I am moral and overall ethical. I know he's fair and not so judgemental. I know homosexuals, drinkers, and gluttons and are deserving to a happy afterlife. You cant pick whats ok and not like pro choice catholics

To the people who say that prophet Jesus is a God I am wondering...
Back at HIS time, did he eat... I mean eating food by it's abstract meaning, you see... if he ate any food and he was or is a God then where would that food go?!! I can't possibly imagine a god would dispose food like humans do! sorry but I really want to know!!
One more thing , Can a simple man Kill a God and put him on a cross ?!!!

except from getting drunk - are they still getting punished like in the old days the way their prophet did it to his followers, as we see in this story?

In his book, part 8, pp. 196, 197, the Bukhari says:

"The prophet’s custom was to beat the drunkard with palm branches and sandals. When a drunkard was brought to him, he ordered his companions to beat him with their hands, sandals and robes. One of Muhammad’s companions by the name of al-Sa’ib ibn Yazid says, ‘We used to bring the drunkard before the apostle of God and during the caliphate of Abu Bakr and in the first stage of the caliphate of ’Umar, and we would beat him with our hands, sandals and robes. During the last part of ’Umar’s caliphate, he ordered us to flog him eighty times"’ (refer to ibn Timiyya, volume 28, page 336; and the book of the Sunna and its Significance, by Dr. M. Yusuf, page 29).

What brutality to see Muhammad and his followers rise against the drunkard to beat him altogether at the same time.
