I am looking for an example of a Biblical character that strove for greatness. Who did not execpt mediocrity, who did his/her best because it would be fitting to glorify God!

Well no, not all Biblical characters strove for greatness. Though many did. I am looking for the best example of a Character that did not accept mediocrity.

Well there was Saul before he became Paul, everything he did he thought was right in the eyes of God because he didnt execpt mediocity, he had alll the jewish doctrines down to a tee, but look what happened to him, it jus shows that salvation and righteousness is not earned, it is given freely out of love...
