I did the whole RCIA thing in 7 months. There are some Parishes that take much longer than 2 years, but generally less than a year is standard.
I would call another Church and see if they have something shorter - some will, especially the more "modern" ones.
I was married in the Catholic Church without being Catholic so it sounds a little odd that you will be refused - unless of course you want a Mass at the wedding then I understand. (I was, however, in the process of RCIA at the time, so perhaps that has something to do with it.)

It is my understanding that that in strict Roman theology, if there is an authenticatable record of your Baptism, you do NOT have to be rebaptized (all Christian Baptism is valid). However it is true that typically an adult converting to Catholicism must go through RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) which typically culminates in Confirmation on Pentecost. If you truly love this girl, the waiting period should be a time you both accept as a time for great spiritual blessing from the Lord. Do not waste this precious time, but use it to do much devotional service to the Lord together.

It would probably depend on how active and knowledgeable of a Catholic you have been.
If you go to Mass every Sunday and Holy Day of Obligation, have studied and really know your faith and are living a life that is true to your faith, you may not have to go through much instruction in order to prepare for Confirmation.
On the other hand, if you have not stepped into a church for 15 years and really do not know anything about the Catholic faith or what it means to be a practicing Catholic, then it will take a bit longer to prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
The best thing to do is to go talk to your priest and work things out with him. This is not something that can be figured out over the phone.
BTW.. instruction and preparation are needed for every Sacrament so that the person who receives the sacrament knows what they are getting into and can fully appreciate what they are doing. Would you get married to someone you just met? Of course not.

what in the world. why would u need a class? that is ridiculous. if you believe in the bible, why dont you read what it says about marriage. there is no class requirement for anything. cmon people
does the class cost money? i should hope not, less they are using it to make money im sure jesus wouldnt be to thrilled at this. i think there are some people that need to read the bible more, stop following whatever their pastor says.

Get married in a registry office. You are obviously not very religious so why the necessity to marry in a church?
