Well if anyone has ever read my answers to Christian related questions you would see that at that time I was lost as to who Jesus really is. The revelation of who Jesus is came to me last night and I have peace that I never new was possible. I know that Jesus is not Lucifer, just a fairy tale, just a prophet, He is God in the flesh. He is my salvation. I died and yet I am alive in that I am born again. Jesus is more alive now then ever before in that he lives in me as he does in all Christians. I was told, or had the impression that some one prayed for me. Thanks!

If God sent Adam and Eve an email, and said, "Hey, eat from the tree if you want. It's no longer forbidden." .. Should they? Would you? No negative repercussions -- just the knowledge and nothing more.

I know it's in Catholic Bibles, but I don't want to spend $20 for the Catholic Bible when all I want is the Apocrypha. Especially 1 and 2 macabees (sp?).

Please tell me which of the following categories best describe you:

1. You follow the same religious practices by which you were raised.

2. You were raised in a religious household but converted to another belief system as an adult.

3. You were raised in a religious household but do not follow any religous practices as an adult.

4. You were not raised in a religous household but you became religious as an adult.

5. You were not raised as, and have not become religious.

Details would be excellent, but even just picking a number that best describes you would be appreciated. Thank you!

Christians say we cannot comprehend God.

Why?

I've seen and heard of humans pull comprehending all sorts of things. We figure out new ways to do new things every day. We create new things and better understand our universe every day.

Why do we assume a limit to that?

The human brain has a huge number of synapses. Each of the 10^12 neurons (1'000 billion, i.e. 1 trillion) has on average 7,000 synaptic connections to other neurons. Most authors estimate that the brain of a three-year-old child has about 10^16 synapses (10'000 trillion). This number declines with age, stabilizing by adulthood. Estimates vary for an adult, ranging from 10^15 to 5 x 10^15 synapses (1'000 to 5'000 trillion). (wikipedia)

How much info can that many synapes code?
(and I understand that not all of that is available for conscious use)

Could we calculate the equation for the universe given enough time?

Many americans feel that is appropriate to give up their rights according to the Patriot Act to help fight Terrorism.

Since the base of terrorism is religion, would you give up your right to practice religion to help fight terrorism?

Why or why not? Why is religion more important than giving the government the power to access to your medical records, tax records, information about the books you buy or borrow without probable cause, and the power to break into your home and conduct secret searches without telling you for weeks, months, or indefinitely.

If you are willing to give up those rights, why wouldn't you give up religion for America's safety?

I notice that many of the refutations of creationism focus on the peceived deficiency in scientific sophistication among creationists.
Is this warranted?

In television debates on ethical and existential topics, you often hear religious figures ask their opponents why people should reject the religious explanation of something (e.g. "where does our universe come from?"), given that it provides a possible explanation for that thing just as a scientific theory does.
I've always thought that explaining something this way is tantamount to not explaining it all. "Because God created it or wants it" doesn't explain anything, indeed if we reasoned this way we would still be thinking that objects fall to the ground "because God makes them".
Regardless of your beliefs, do you think that a religious explanation based on faith in something that can't be proven (which could very well be true, mind you - but still cannot be proven) is in fact an explanation? Why? Thank you.

I mean, actually kneel down and pray for a bit! Of course people throughout the day offer a quick word or prayer for various reasons. But how often to you take a chunk of time to say your prayers?

I am keeping an open mind on the issue of Religion and God. If you can find a relatively logical reason for this then you can possibly sway me to your side of thinking. One of the things that makes me think from an agnostic point of view is the HISTORICAL time line. It is not accurate and therefore religion, bible etc is illogical to me. Please be respectful, it is the very nature of my confusion about my own religion which is in fact christian.
