Inquisitions, crusades, witch trials and jihad appear particular to the above-mentioned mythologies. Unless one goes back to the Aztecs, I can't think of any other religions even remotely as violent. It appears that belief in vicious gods makes vicious people. And if the god is vicious, what is it you worship other than fear?
Oddly enough, Judaism appears to have found a decent interpretation of the Old Testament, despite the cruelty in it. Still, one out of three Abrahamic religions isn't enough for peace in the world. Until the other two are completely revamped, there will be war after war after war.

On you tube they, RRS, has issued a challenge for people to post video denying the Holy Spiit and God and Jesus. This is exactly what the devil wants. How can we stop this? There are already over 9000 responces, don't they realize what they are doing? It deeply hurts to see people saying such things. Please, pray for these people.

Im having trouble understanding as to how mormans say belive the bible yet they read these verses and yet add a whole nother book ( the book of morman)
Revelations 22:18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book, if anyone adds to them, may God add to him the plagues which are written in this book.

22:19 If anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, may God take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city, which are written in this book.

I don't have your questions deleted, so why do you do it to me? Can't handle someone having a different opinion than yourself?

Can any expert from India tell me because I am from that country. Actually India is a country which has been devoted to religion and spiritualism as well, from the past. As far as I am concerned I am more spiritual than religious. (I am into Yoga & Meditation).

I was asked to teach our sunday school lesson this Sunday and while I was studying - this is one of the questions that is asked. I was wondering what other people thought and how would they answer this question. . . .Why am I here, and what is my purpose? Also, when you answer this I would like to know if you are a christian or not - unless you rather not comment on it, than that is okay. . . . I was just wondering if you thought that God had a purpose for your life and do you know what it is or do you care to know what it is? I believe that God has a purpose and a plan for our lives if only we will seek Him for that particular thing, I believe that He will reveal this to us. I am a Southern Baptist christian woman, just in case you want to know.

I am looking for a religion. I believe there is a god, just someone out there. But not everything I hear I believe. Like the whole Eve came from Adams rib, or whatever. Stuff like that. (And no, I have nothing to back that up, it just seems unrealistic. I just want something to believe in, to have a spiritual side. I believe people should live there life the way they themselves think is right and what is best for them. I want my kids to believe in something. I believe abortion that person’s choice, and that any person should be with any person they love, and should not be persecuted for it. I’ve heard so many things about Catholics that I don’t think is right, so they are defiantly out of the picture.

Answer me this please, just starting off by something simple:

For example how does a pencil, book come into existence? By a creator yes?

Say the pencil is created in a factory, who created the factory?

Your answer might be an engineer.. Who created that engineer? Obviously there must be a creator

Similarly who created the sun, the moon, the stars etc? There has to be a creator for everything.

And that is God the almighty!!!

What are your thougts?
(Sensible replies thankyou)

At what point did this country become Explicitly Atheist.

Our country has push God out of our schools now high school kids are killing each other at will and we can't figure out why (some) of these teenagers are so messed up.

Katrina- This country is constantly telling God to get out of our government, Stay out of our schools and get out of our lives.

When this tragic event happens we blame him. All he did was what we asked. He stepped aside we can't sit here and want God's protection and blessings if we constantly demand that he leave us alone or that he doesn't exist.

I believe in God and Love him very much and I'm tired of being pushed around for it.

Because she was made out of man's (Adams) rib? Wasn't the bible originally in Hebrew? People tell me "Wo"-man is called so, because she was made from man. How does this make sense? They weren't speaking even any Anglo-Saxon language back then. So, if anyone speaketh Hebrew, can someone tell me what the word for woman in Hebrew is?

Muchos gracias.

I'm just curious.

I know Chrisitans talk about being born again in the spirit being the only way to be alive spiritually.

Do they consider all of the other people in all of the other religions who believe they are quite spiritual to also be dead spiritually?

Or is it just some atheists who are dead spirtually?

It seems to me that you have to have some trying event in your life, some part of your history that plagues you and you had difficulty overcoming to be a hardcore Christian.

Is that always the case?

What about us "normal" people who have had no issues?

Can we ever become real Christians?

Has anyone been raised in a religious environment then turned on it later because you felt it turned on you? I spent my childhood in Christian schools and the church was a huge part of my life. I've always reflected fondly on my experience up until the one time I asked for help (long story but basically my parents split, I moved away and when I moved back and wanted to resume my membership, I was told I'd have to prove I wanted it. They accused me of only wanting the membership so I could get a discount on the Christian High School I wanted to go to, which wasn't true) the church turned me away. I've tried to get back into it but it's been much of the same thing and I've become very anti-organized religion. My faith is in tact and I pray regularly. I even had my kids baptized and tried to go back for them, but it was horrible! Has anyone had an experience like this? Did you ever go back or do you just worship on your own, like I do?

What book OTHER THAN your faith's holy writ would you recommend they read?*

Why?

*No Qura'n, no Bible, no Bhagavad Gita... Nothing considered sacred or revealed. Assume they have read them.

He should have known the trouble it would cause! Why couldn't God just never make all of those obviously ancient enormous bones--which could have NEVER coexisted with God's ultimate and special creation (MAN), knowing we would one day---VERY far into the future find them? Hah? So either God should have made us remain very dumb and uninquisitive--like we were for thousands and thousands of years, or he should have never made all the millions of dinosaurs, or he should have removed the bones from the earth before he just 'plopped' us here, animals and man, in their original form! What's wrong with God? Is this some sick joke?
