It seems to me that you have to have some trying event in your life, some part of your history that plagues you and you had difficulty overcoming to be a hardcore Christian.

Is that always the case?

What about us "normal" people who have had no issues?

Can we ever become real Christians?

I don't think that we can be real Christians. A real christian gives god 100% control over his or her life. The only times someone is going to do that is when they are a child and don't know better, or when they have been through some hardships and don't trust their own judgement anymore.

He is the Almighty God who is the God of the saved born again souls. Being a Christian does not guarantee you an easy plague free life, but that you dont' have to go through all that alone. Praise the Lord!!

Anyone who does not have any issues are those who satan already has poession of. There is no need for him to upset them because they pose no threat to him. They belong to him already.

I am a Real Christian. You can be too if you turn your life over to Jesus and study and read and apply God's word to your life daily. Repent of your sins daily, and strive to make the necessary changes inside yourself so that you can overcome temptations and keep walking on the path layed out for you my Jesus.

Once you become born again, that does not mean that there is nothing else for you to do. You must nurture that new life through obedience to the word of God daily, through daily reading of that word so you can know what is expected of you. Its harder than most people think, but true dedicated fully willing participants will make it all the way to the finishline with the Lord!! Praise the Lord ffor that glorious day!!

You have no issues? What planet do you live on? Even if you have no personal issues, do you think you might be able to choke out a little weltschmertz, given the human condition around the globe?

Why is it that so many people find Jesus in prison and rehab or when diagnosed with illness? Is Jesus is the god of human weakness, the god of slaves and cowards and hypocrites? Enthusiastic "Yes!", I suppose. "He saves all those who believe in His Name."

That's my whole problem with Xianity. All you have to do is believe, or pretend to believe. No other effort of any kind is required. Even good works come in a distant second - "All our righteousness is as filthy rags." It doesn't matter what sort of life you lead or what contributions you make to society - all that's required is blind belief in an antecedently absurd and incredible dogma. Your own "spiritual progress" is measured in terms of how complete your delusion is. It's a religion of lazy, morally bankrupt simpletons.

Whats normal?

The Christian God is the same god of both the Jewish and Christian religions. This one-and-only True God is the Creator of All, and is the God of All creation. He is one-in-three Trinity of the God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. God sees His Word as over Him (has more value).

Not all Christians have hard-core issues. Many come to know Christ via their family upbringing or by association with other Christians.

When a person is highly defiant of God, God will sometimes "wake them up" with some life shaking trauma or issue, so that they can come to know God for the first time.
Othertimes, the person is a "neutral" or uninvolved Christian, and God allows trials to happen to the person, so that this Christian is reminded of his/her relationship with God. The trial(s) are not meant to punish the Christian, but to get them to come again to the Father, on "bended knee" so to speak, as a child comes to it's father, when frightened or sad. He wants us to depend on Him for ALL things; He needs to be our PILOT, not the Co-PILOT!

God had a unique intimacy with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, and He misses that one-ness with His greatest of creations. Any event that draws us closer to Him brings Him great joy!

Normal people who have no issues? Well, I'd certainly worry about that. I feel priveledged that God sought me out, set me with some very gut-renching trials to bring me back to Him. If He didn't do that, I'd fear that He didn't really love me, that I wasn't important to Him enough to "wake me up" from my self-centered sleep.

I see "normal" people about me, who seem to have no hardships, make enough money to live comfortable lives, no addictions, no debts, no children in trouble, healthy, top of their game, and I wonder "Is God trying to reach them? Why do no wake up calls seem to be occurring with this person?".

But I do not know what is in a person's heart, I only am on the outside looking in. What appears as smooth sailing in a person's life may harbor some troubling waters below - that is where God comes in. And I ask if I'd rather be close to God with nothing or distant from God with all the riches of the world. And I choose God. Always choose God first in your life.

I know of a youngman who has had an incredible amount of trials and traumas in his life, yet he remains clueless of God's involvement in his life. Things that would have compelled the average person to their knees before God, only has this guy be-boppin' along like nothing is different; like God is not reaching out to him. But I know God is, and I continue to pray and encourage this person to draw closer to God.

A real Christian is someone who slips, faulters, forgets, lies, cheats, kills, destroys, and all other sins that the general public get involved in. The difference lies here: The Christian recognises the sin, truly repents, works to stop the sinning, and reconciles with a contrite heart to his Father. Yes, we all can become real Christians. Accept Jesus Christ as the True Son of God the Father, read the Bible, live His ways, love your fellow man, and try to lead a Godly life.

I hope I clarified some of this for you. See, I'm just a regular stumbling, fumbling, sinning Christian who struggles day to day to continue renewing my committment to God.

Our God (the ONLY true God) is the God of ALL souls. He wants the lost to be saved (which is why Jesus the Christ came) as much as those of us who are. It is just a matter of what YOU want to choose. YBIC
