any christian that gives you history or science to prove the validity of the bible is undermining their own faith. faith is the belief in something which cannot be proved. if it were to be proved correct it would no longer be faith, but knowledge. you do not have faith that if you jump up you will come back down. you know you will. so then, there is no way that you can KNOW that the 2,000 year old books are right about anything, you have to have faith in them. faith in the religious leaders, that they know what they are saying. faith that god won't let you be led astray. faith like the suicide bombers of the radical islamists. faith like jim jones' followers who drank the poisoned koolade. not knowledge. then you can believe that the bible is valid. personally, i think faith is dangerous.

Compare the Bible to the history books. Compare the Old Testament to science books. That will be the proof. If the Bible was inaccurate in these small things, then there would be a case for not believing it.

there are many reasons why you should believe in the bible 10 of the most important ones are defined here.

Please Read them
I don't have much time to tell you it all but here goes.

Bible -1600 yrs to write it.
-40 different authors.(it would be pretty hard to get 40 people over 1600 yrs to fake it)

Micah a prophet who lived 600yrs b4 Christ wrote in
Micah 5:2+3
"But you, Bethlehem, David's country,
the runt of the litter—
From you will come the leader
who will shepherd-rule Israel.
He'll be no upstart, no pretender.
His family tree is ancient and distinguished."

This means the Messiah would come from Bethlehem-a small town. It is described as David's country because King David-the Greatest King of Isreal was from here in those days that ment that the Christ would be a decendant of David.(distinguished and ancient family tree)-many other famous bible names were from this line.

This was true.this is what happened 600yrs later.
Luke 1:1-7
"About that time Caesar Augustus ordered a census to be taken throughout the Empire. This was the first census when Quirinius was governor of Syria. Everyone had to travel to his own ancestral hometown to be accounted for. So Joseph went from the Galilean town of Nazareth up to Bethlehem in Judah, David's town, for the census. As a descendant of David, he had to go there. He went with Mary, his fiancée, who was pregnant.
While they were there, the time came for her to give birth. She gave birth to a son, her firstborn. She wrapped him in a blanket and laid him in a manger, because there was no room in the hostel."

Heres another example.
the prophet Isaiah wrote
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.(means God with us.)
This was 700 years B.C.

Again this came true.
Matthew 1v18-25
The birth of Jesus took place like this. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. Before they came to the marriage bed, Joseph discovered she was pregnant. (It was by the Holy Spirit, but he didn't know that.) Joseph, chagrined but noble, determined to take care of things quietly so Mary would not be disgraced.
While he was trying to figure a way out, he had a dream. God's angel spoke in the dream: "Joseph, son of David, don't hesitate to get married. Mary's pregnancy is Spirit-conceived. God's Holy Spirit has made her pregnant. She will bring a son to birth, and when she does, you, Joseph, will name him Jesus—'God saves'—because he will save his people from their sins." This would bring the prophet's embryonic sermon to full term:

Watch for this—a virgin will get pregnant and bear a son;
They will name him Immanuel (Hebrew for "God is with us").

Then Joseph woke up. He did exactly what God's angel commanded in the dream: He married Mary. But he did not consummate the marriage until she had the baby. He named the baby Jesus. "

The Bible contains many other instances where the birth and life of Jesus was foretold hundreds of years before. These are just a few.

The main rule of the Church is that Jesus is the perfect revelation of God. The Bible is just a collection of human writings -- reading them is one way to encounter Jesus. Read them and open your heart, and leave aside what you don't understand and can't accept.

The Scriptures have survived the test of time and ALL of its critics....no one has been able to successfully refute it in all its history or any of its truths.

Millions have acted on its promises and found it to be reliable and true....you can count on it.....I promise It is the Word of God just as it claims....I have personally found it to be true just as the Apostles have testified.

"why should you believe good news"?

why reject the gift of Life?

"how can you tell what is the truth"?

The Truth must be received.......period.......

and religion("church") is Anti-Truth, which is Anti-Messiah!

yet while there is breath(spirit) there is hope!

for Miracles do happen!

hope is you would experience The Miracle that is "receiving a love of The Truth" for True Faith is grounded in Miracles.......

peace, in spite of the dis-ease(no-peace) that is of this world, for "the WHOLE world is under the control of the evil one".......

There are no "logical" answers. That's why I became a Buddhist eventually.

You cannot know it is true. It's veracity cannot be ascertained.

You have to accept on faith that it is true, or not.
