I think this is ludicrious. He predicts things that are generally likely to happen anyway and then when they happen he thinks he predicted it and that god told him. This is just total nonsense. I want to hear from someone who believes this guy is valid so I can understand why someone would think that. The bible says in Dueteronomy that the test of a true prophet is that everything that they predict comes to pass. I don't believe that is true of Pat Robertson at all because all of his predictions are too general. Also, prophets in the bible were predicting things like the birth of Christ and the end times. I don't believe there is a need for additional prophecy since we have the revealed Word of God.

How do they pick the next Dali Lama? I know each one is supposed to be the reincarnation of the last, but how do they know? Do they have to wait a few years, or do they look right away? What religion is the Dali Lama again?

The bible states, “thou shall not kill” among us, so why was the bible not specific about the type of killing such as self-defense, war, or capital punishment? The bible has many parables for almost all of it commandment, but not much in this area. These types of killing are older than even the bible.

Wouldn’t it take extreme global warming to create the flood mentioned in the bible during Noah’s time? Such a flood would cause mass extinction and take thousands of years to repair. So did this flood really happen?

Since the bible has verses that are against gay behavior, why do gays want to be Christians? Isn’t it hypocrisy to want to be a part of a religion that does not accept who gays are and has a verse that backs it up? Is it not better that gays start their own religion that will accept gays. Gays then can set their standards on who may attend their church.

If there is a separation between church and state and there are people who are not religious or have a different belief than Christianity, should a person swear on the bible when this person is in a US courtroom? Why not swear on a book containing the constitution since it is the law of the land?

If a Christian must keep the Ten Commandments and most of all have love, Why did man change one of the commandment by changing the day of worship? Did God ask them to? Why not keep what God started?

If God made a perfect world before he created man, what happened to the dinosaurs? Seeing how huge these animals were, why were they not mentioned in the bible like other animals were?

Why is there a mystery about Mary being a virgin? If a woman has access to fresh semen, she can use her finger or an instrument to insert the semen into her and possibly get pregnant. It has happened.

Folks, the actual and factual information about prayer and religious expression in American public schools is not that difficult to find. And the TRUTH is that there is a great deal of freedom for religious expression in public schools. Do you have the integrity to read the truth about it and then disabuse your misinformed freinds and family and acquaintences about it?

I was answering a question someone had just left, and by the time I'd finished composing my thought provoking answer, the question had been removed by yahoo answers.

This was a simple question about whether or not it might be about time to abandon religion in favor of science and reason. Nothing offensive per se, unless you're a bible jockey of course.

Has anyone else noticed such activity on the part of YAnswers? Besides the obviously prejudicial act of placing the religious discussion outside the Folklore & Mythology section of course...

Evolution is a practically proven process (look at animal breeding) of how life CHANGES not how life necessarily began, I am just trying to understand the threat it poses to creationism that warrants such outrage.

...or that the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Legends of King Arthur were true and the teacher's explaination for these insane conclusions was God told me so or It is written so I have faith, would you pull your child out of school.

back to Rome. If the same teacher stated the cover question to the class and had faith that they were correct would you keep your child in that school.

Of course not. Gilgamesh and Arthur are ancient and medieval works of literature with no proof to back them. And certainly Rome exsited because look at all the pretty buildings in Italy that say "Roman Empire" on them.

So if you would pull your child away from such lunacy, how is it that you believe in the Bible when it is merely an Ancient and medieval work of literature with no proof to back it?
