The bible states, “thou shall not kill” among us, so why was the bible not specific about the type of killing such as self-defense, war, or capital punishment? The bible has many parables for almost all of it commandment, but not much in this area. These types of killing are older than even the bible.

Wouldn’t it take extreme global warming to create the flood mentioned in the bible during Noah’s time? Such a flood would cause mass extinction and take thousands of years to repair. So did this flood really happen?

Since the bible has verses that are against gay behavior, why do gays want to be Christians? Isn’t it hypocrisy to want to be a part of a religion that does not accept who gays are and has a verse that backs it up? Is it not better that gays start their own religion that will accept gays. Gays then can set their standards on who may attend their church.

In some religions it’s not right to use birth control, condoms, or have abortions because it interferes with the natural process of reproduction and violates the commandment that say thou shall not kill. What about In-vitro fertilization and medicines that aid in creating a child or children? Doesn’t these methods have the same issues of being unnatural and having possibilities of constantly killing embryos? What is the stance of this issue?

If a person is honest, loving, caring, giving, respectful of others and abide by the law of their country, why should that person go to hell if they do not accept Jesus? There are many religions to select from. It is hard to tell which is the right one. If a person has knowledge of these religions and choose not to be religious, but be a good human being, why be penalize?

If you look at the original language - that command is do not murder. We know what murder is. The bible also gives the government the mandate to protect its people, so a war can be just. There is also a grace for self-defense killing. In the OT He set aside cities of refuge for people to flee to if someone was coming after them to avenge an accidental death.

Again you're trying to use science to explain a miracle of God. He is all powerful. He could use a cosmic hair dryer to clean up the earth. :)

Starting your own religion is pointless. You would know that you made it up. I myself used to be gay, but I still believed that Christianity was the truth. I still went to church and I was accepted, but I was also helped to find freedom from homosexuality. The truth is evident to people. If they believe in a certain doctrine, they will want to be a part of it.

The Bible doesn't say anything about birth control. It does talk about abortion though. It's wrong. I just recently read about how IVF destroys a bunch of fertilized embryos. I now have changed my mind about that process. I think that it is not ok to kill all the extras. If a couple is meant to conceive, God can make it happen without al that stuff happening.

Because our actions are not what saves us. Jesus said that He is the only way to the Father. We have all sinned, and if you think you haven't, you're in denial. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus. God is the judge, so we have to look at it through His eyes. Only those whose sin is washed by the blood have the purity to enter into a perfect heaven. No matter how good a person is, they still have blemishes.

You bring up very ligitament questions and all of these can be answered truthfully through the Catholic faith the holder of all truth in faith and morals. This is the church Christ instituted for the world. Many will disagree.
Scripture reveals this Church to be the one Jesus Christ built upon the rock of Saint Peter (Matt. 16:18). By giving Peter the keys of authority (Matt. 16:19), Jesus appointed Peter as the chief steward over His earthly kingdom (cf. Isaiah. 22:19-22). Jesus also charged Peter to be the source of strength for the rest of the apostles (Luke 22:32) and the earthly shepherd of Jesus' flock (John 21:15-17). Jesus further gave Peter, and the apostles and elders in union with him, the power to bind and loose in heaven what they bound and loosed on earth. (Matt. 16:19; 18:18). This teaching authority did not die with Peter and the apostles, but was transferred to future bishops through the laying on of hands (e.g., Acts 1:20; 6:6; 13:3; 8:18; 9:17; 1 Tim. 4:14; 5:22; 2 Tim. 1:6).

By virtue of this divinely-appointed authority, the Catholic Church determined the canon of Scripture (what books belong in the Bible) at the end of the fourth century. We therefore believe in the Scriptures on the authority of the Catholic Church. After all, nothing in Scripture tells us what Scriptures are inspired, what books belong in the Bible, or that Scripture is the final authority on questions concerning the Christian faith. Instead, the Bible says that the Church, not the Scriptures, is the pinnacle and foundation of the truth (1 Tim. 3:15) and the final arbiter on questions of the Christian faith (Matt. 18:17). It is through the teaching authority and Apostolic Tradition (2 Thess. 2:15; 3:6; 1 Cor. 11:2) of this Church, who is guided by the Holy Spirit (John 14:16,26; 16:13), that we know of the divine inspiration of the Scriptures, and the manifold wisdom of God. (cf. Ephesians 3:10).

Killing in self defense (when there is no other option) or in a just war is not the will of God, but it is a justifiable evil.

In vitro fertilization is just as evil as abortion, and for exactly the same reason. It destroys helpless human beings in the early stages of their lives. The intent is not the same, but the result is the same. You cannot commit an intrinsically evil act for a good reason. Evil is evil.

Thou shalt not murder. In other words don't take an innocent life. It doesn't mean you have no right to defend yourself. Why would Jesus tell his disciples to sell their garment and buy a sword? To chop wood?
