It's hard to say.
In my heart I think that he's just getting old and a little off (seen it happen to my dad).
Not to say he hasn't heard from God in the past, and there is no denying that over the last many years he has helped many many people.
I DO know my God ------ which means anything can happen. He made more than one prophet strip naked and walk amongst the people.
I think the only way to know the truth about him is to watch for the fruit. Check the other things that he has said.
An earlier writer said that if a prophet says something and it doesn't come true, they are not to be trusted --- that is true.
That's the only way we will know.

Here's the thing about Pat Robertson. The guy has what I call "Ann Coulter Syndrome". He has made a career out of making ridiculous and offensive comments, and the only way he can keep that career going is by making each of his comments/predictions more ridiculous than the previous. He can't predict that the world will be peaceful in the year 2007, because the media will find that boring -- instead, he has to predict that massive amounts of people will die in horrible terrorist attacks and natural disasters. THAT will get him on the front cover of newspapers. But the thing is, like Ann Coulter, the next public prediction/statement he makes has to be even more ridiculous than that. He has to constantly keep outdoing himself; that's how he stays in the headlines.
As far as whether he's actually a prophet or not... of course not. Like I said, he does this to draw attention to himself. And you can tell that it works, because we're all talking about him right now.

The Bible says "Do not despise prophetic utterances, but examine everything carefully, hold fast to that which is good" (I Thessalonians 5:20,21)
"And let two or three prophets speak, and let the others pass judgment" (I Corinthians 14:29)
Frankly, when Pat speaks what he believes God is showing him, he isn't speaking to unbelievers, but to believers, so if I may be blunt, he really isn't even talking to you. Believers however are called to judge any spiritual revelation firstly in the light of Scripture, and secondly whether the Holy Spirit in them bears witness to the truth of what is being said.

Not even Pat Robertson believes he is a credible prophet.
In comparison with other prophets, however, I'd say he's about on par. They generally make vague "predictions" of things that are unlikely NOT to happen and call it insight. So he seems to be about as credible as any prophet can get.
Which isn't particularly credible, in case you were confused.

Have you ever seen this goomba doing his "word of knowledge" schtick? He squints his eyes closed and says god is telling him about some poor slob why has a herniated disc in his back and is going to be touched by god. So thousands of people with back pain jump up and down now that god has recognized their agony...via Pat Robertson. Absolutely insane.

Any one who exhibits their programming on Trinity has the credibility of a fireant in my book. They cry for money for one cause or another, but it seems the studio sets and wardrobes upgrade constantly. If they gave everything they had save a $20k a year I might be more inclined to raise them to rophetic chimpanzees. But as long as they use God as a fundraising too, I have no use for them.

The weather man predicts things that are likely to happen all the time....so why aren't you screaming about their false prediction?
I don't ever remember Pat saying he was a prophet.
Think about it....
Your hatred of Pat is really because Pat stands for righteousness....and you appear to hate the righteous.
I I give thousands of $ to these wonderful preachers because they aggravate the unrighteous and because they preach the gospel of Jesus.

I hope you do get someone to answer you who really believes the stuff Pat Robertson spouts....
Prophecy is more than just "telling the future," in its truest definition it is "truth telling"
I do not think that what Pat Robertson says fully falls under either category...much of what he preaches is actually pretty hateful...like when he said the US should fatally take out Hugo Chavez, or that God gave Ariel Sharon his stroke as punishment. ....
good grief!!

Prophecy is an intuitive vision. Pat Robertson may have this kind of gift.
