I once saw a shadow off the wall at my work place and didn't give it much thought. A couple of months later, I sat beside a guest who had worked at the place 50 years before me. He looked me straight in the eye and said, " I see you have met our friend upstairs". For some unknown reason, I knew exactly what he was on about coz the hairs at the back of my neck stood on end and the feeling that had come over me when I saw the shadow swept over me again. I was realy astonished and after the buts, oh my Gods', how did you knows and what do you means... in no particular order, the initial shock washed over. He told me that in the 1800's when the place was a hunting lodge, the owners daughter had drowned in one of the huge victorian bathtubs upstairs. Thats funny I said, I almost drowned in the tub at the far side when I first started work here before moving to the cottage (accomodation comes with the job). "Thats the same tub she drowned and died in" he said; "may be that is your connection". I still go up to see if she'll appear again but she never has. I have been toying with the idea of holding a seance but the info about it spooks me and I wouldn't want to unleash any unfriendlies. I know what I saw and it didn't feel unfriendly though the temperature dropped and my hairs stood on end, which, I think is what spooked me. The shadow sprinted the minute I faced it in readiness for a good old scream. I do not know why "religious people" condem ghosts nor why such frightful myths surround them but I do know that the reality of seeing something out of norm automatically causes fright. However, I am now more curious than ever.

Yes, the Bible does refer to spirits, angels and other beings other than God and those in human form. I don't know that the Bible ever mentions the word "ghost" in reference to humans.
My Webster's dictionary gives the definitions:
ghost, the apparition of a dead person; a specter; a disembodied spirit; semblance or shadow.
Ghost, the Holy Spirit; the third element in the Trinity.
While I have never seen a ghost or spirit, I have spoken with many spirit beings who tell me they do exist in spirit form since their death. They tell me they are deceased human beings, some, claim to be famous personalities. I have been accumulating those spirit messages for years...I thought to publish them one day.

Spirits are real. Both good spirits (angels) and evil spirits (demons). These entities were created as spirits. They are not the ethereal remains of former human beings. A ghost is the supposed spirit of a deceased human being. However, God's Church, and its book, the Bible, teach that the spirits of deceased human beings have been judged, and are in heaven or in hell, not wandering around old farmhouses rattling chains and throwing books. Ghosts do not exist.

Saul, a king in Israel, went to the witch of Endor so that she could connect with Samuel and find out some information. She called up something as Samuel was dead. Anyhow, the spectre or whatever impressed even her; and King Saul lost his throne. This is in the Bible. All you need to know is if Endor is a real or fantasy place and that will help you to infer the accuracy of the story.

God is a spirit and he sure is real. Also demons are spirits and they are unfortunately real too. The ghost thing isn't necessarily real unless you mean demons. Does this help any?

The bible talks about:
Dragons
Behemoth
Leviathan
Demons
Evil Spirits
Familiar Spirits
Angels
Angel/Man halfbreeds
Giants
Magic
They tell you not to believe in them because they don't know anything about it. I personally believe there are a lot of things that we don't know about.

In Job it says when a man dies he does not return to his house. I'd say that eliminates ghosts.

xianity seems to be unable to account for ghosts unless they are demons impersonating. If you either go to heaven or hell... where are ghosts coming from?
