Since there are many people claiming that holy texts (bible, quran, or any others) contain predictions which came true, I ask you to present me with some of them, which should fit the following description:
- a prediction of events occurring in our present time frame, let's say from the 20nd century onwards
- a prediction which is expressed in a way that the predicted event cannot be mistaken (general gloom and doom predictions, or predictions without naming place and time in a more than general way, are of no interest)
- a prediction of an event which has not a big chance to occur (a prediction saying "earthquake in Asia between 1950 and 1975" can be made by anyone)

Please provide a source for your answer if you have one. Thank you for your attention.

The universe was perfectly ordered and neat. Then Adam ate a fruit and planets started to collide, chunks of ice and rock started hurtling through space and smashing into planets, dust rings formed around saturn, black holes started sucking up planets.....

All that from 1 bite of fruit, right?

There is nothing in these statements that is true.

This is violating one of the Christians/Jews own 10 commandments!

If she is simply regurgitating something she heard, someone has started this lie and many people have perpetuated it.

Does such unethical behavior justify the ends of keeping the faithful faithful?

I still can't get why in bibles Jesus is pictures as a white man. If anything he'd have a more olive colored skin. Christians need to be more in tune with History rather then believe in lies. I mean really do people believe Jesus had healing and magical powers. Yeah right that was a load of crap. Curing the blind, water into wine. If Jesus was so important of a figure and did all these things. Why then was he killed. Maybe he was killed because everyone found out that he was a fraud. Judas hung himself over guilt that he believed in a dumbazz. I'm tired of christians thinking really Jesus is thier savior. Really a savior ? More like a Fraud !

Your name is Mishal, but they changed your name to Michael to suit them. The reason I ask is that Jesus Christs' (who was born in the Middle East and has a Middle Eastern name) real name was Eisa and Mary his mother was Maryam. Why people use a western (or a name suitable to pronounce in their country) to pray with?

Isaiah 14:12
How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star (Lucifer), son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!

Revelation 22:16,
"I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you [1] this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star (Lucifer)."

This is a bit of a dilemma, isn't it? either jesus is lucifer, or nothing in the bible can be taken seriously.

Can you pinpoint a time or experience in your life that determined for you how you would feel about the existence of God; also, for those who believe in a higher power...what form your faith would take?

My ex-wife, a filipina, wants incense to be burned daily and have the smoke go around our seven year-old's body and have her breathe in some of the smoke too. Not being too familiar with Catholic rituals like this, I am wondering whether this is unusual or not.

What she wants done is to light a piece of charcoal and have it burn for a few minutes and then sprinkle some special "sand" on the charcoal that gives off the incense smoke. Then it is to be waved about in our daughter's room and around her as it supposedly gives some spiritual protection according to her. Then she wants our daughter to breathe in some of the smoke too.

All of this is strange to me although I've seen the incense burning in Catholic churches when I've been there. What was particularly scary though to me was that she was showing our daughter how to pick up the lit charcoal with a pair of tongs and it had a flame of about three to four inches while it was burning! I would never let her to do this of course!

I will be more philosophical, look deeper into things, and be more caring. I'm relatively a spiritual person and try to live as balanced as I can. When anything gets off balance, I may do something excessively. I drink little to moderately and unfortunately when something is off balance the day I intend to drink, I may over drink and obviously feel bad. That I understand. I want to hear stories of similar experiences to people who don't drink much but when they do, something spiritually changes the next day. My reasons are because I'm sharing control of my body and suffocating my soul and then even though physically I will be okay and I have gotten plenty of sleep and something to eat, my soul is still trying to recover from the spiritual suffocation. What are your thoughts? Remember, this is not a question to share how "wasted" you got. This is a study on the effects of the soul when altering the state of mind. Psychology references are welcome, but I'd prefer your own experiences.

How can we believe that there was ever this perfect world? Everything can kill you. Everything has killed somebody at some time in history and if it hasn't it will. Even in Eden could there ever have been a time when Adam did not have to worry about tripping and splitting his head open on a rock?

Even if Adam didn't eat from the tree wouldn't he have still died eventually?

in the early to mid 1900's majority of people belived in God in their heart.Evan during slavery;slaves & slave masters believed in God(although the slavemasters understanding was messed up);society as a whole still prospered and eventually slavery ended and blacks were able to contribute signicantly.
In the mid 1900 they improved cars and planes and transportation and lot of other things.Including going to the moon. But as we come upon the 90's,we have to two famous female music stars sexually kiss each other;then all the sudden society decides God is expendaple and not necessary. From there on out society goes down hill, sins more and more, waxes worse and worse.

Does it not occur to people that the reason for this is the removal of God?

Cause:Faith in God
Effect:Society prospers

Cause:Removal of Jesus Christ from society
Effect:Society slowly but surely gets worse and worse

Anyone besides christians notice this correlation?
