Better question would be, have people stuck by the moral values in their religion?

In regards to religion, society is moving towards moral relativism. That is, there is no absolute standard for morality, only what you think is moral. So, if I thought have 50 wives was moral then it is.

Taken to the extreme, if someone murdered someone but they had their moral reasons to do so, then that person cannot be guilty.

So there is a danger in that philosophy. Not everyone would agree of course so there must be some sort of moral standard but who defines it?

So, to answer your question, not entirely. Some try to follow them and some completely disregard them altogether.

how can there be peace love and even forgivness when there is so many down right filthy, terrible actions taking place amougst church goers.. in church every time the doors are open. you would be amazed at the people who attend church services, that drink their beer, cuss swear.. and cheat on their spouses with some one else's spouse. and to top it off. i've known christains who leave church and fire up a joint...............there's little children being molested right inside church class rooms.. there's two women lovers, two men lovers. what kind of christains are roaming around, makes me stay out of the church, and in my prayer closet, and into reading my bible, and studying it and asking god for guidance as i read.

It's not about religion---it's about a personal relationship with Christ.
