I've seen it posted numerous times in the RELIGION AND SPIRITUALITY section. Why is it even there? It's a cornerstone of biology and will remain there until replaced by a competent theory, which is NOT INTELLIGENT DESIGN. Evolution needs no leap of faith, with the evidence already found the lines can be connected. The specific details still need to be worked out but look at mechanics. Newton wasn't all right it was fixed and revised by later scientists.

Science is the search for truth, though empirical evidence, which can't be taken from spiritual text i.e. The Bible, Koran, etc.

Why can't you let it be? Would you like scientist telling you that the burning bush wasn't an act of god but, spontaneous combustion caused because of dried weather and ideal conditions? Science and Religion are too complete opposite things that shouldn't be combined. The more evidence science has the more credibly it is. In religion the more evidence, faith decreased. Faith is the cornerstone of it.

i bet you can't give me REAL reasons on how evolution works. but i am curious to see what you evolutionists believe. how can something appear from nothing? explain it. how could a human (so complexly designed) appear from dogs & fish & maggots & nothing? it makes NO sense! try me. (just remember, believing in evolution..... well..... it's your funeral. not mine.) but try me.

Since christianity and islam have spent their histories slaughtering each other, and those who don't believe in their way, and since judaism was never a world religion -
what do you think will be the next great world religion?
Buddhism? Jainism?
who will make up the next great world religion, like scientology, and what country do you think it will come from?

It has been suggested that this might be helpful for me. Would you share your experience--was it positive and helpful? I'm not usually comfortable in group situations. This is not a "trick" question.

I tend to be a very nervous person, and people always tell me that I shouldn't worry because everything is under the control of God. I also hear that you will never be given a trial that is more than you can handle. But people can do whatever they want, so doesn't that mean that they can go against His plan? Like, maybe God planned for me to live to be 95 and for this other guy, Bob, to be a doctor. But Bob decides to use his free will and randomly shoot me. That isn't under God's control. So how can I stop being anxious all the time?

Let's suppose God is an omniscient being who knows and sees all (omnipresence and omnipotence aside... for now). He knew from the day he decided to create the angels that one of them would try to betray him, and that he would be forced to caste him into a lake of fire to burn for all eternity. God created Lucifer, did he not? He knew that Lucifer would come to Adam and Eve and tempt them with the Fruit of Passion, did he not? So why did God seemed so shocked when Lucifer betrayed him, or Adam and Eve ate the fruit? Did God NOT know this would happen? Why did he act so irrationally when he threw them out of Eden? Why didn't God just NOT make Lucifer? Wouldn't everything be okay now, and we'd all be feasting in the Garden of Eden? In a way (I know this sounds trite...), is God not to blame for all suffering?

It seems that religious and non-religious people alike come here daily to ask silly questions to get even sillier responses. Few seem genuinely sincere and open-minded to intelligent opinions and mainly want to justify their static positions. So in that light, what does supporting this faceless forum say about the state of our society and us as individuals?
