I will be more philosophical, look deeper into things, and be more caring. I'm relatively a spiritual person and try to live as balanced as I can. When anything gets off balance, I may do something excessively. I drink little to moderately and unfortunately when something is off balance the day I intend to drink, I may over drink and obviously feel bad. That I understand. I want to hear stories of similar experiences to people who don't drink much but when they do, something spiritually changes the next day. My reasons are because I'm sharing control of my body and suffocating my soul and then even though physically I will be okay and I have gotten plenty of sleep and something to eat, my soul is still trying to recover from the spiritual suffocation. What are your thoughts? Remember, this is not a question to share how "wasted" you got. This is a study on the effects of the soul when altering the state of mind. Psychology references are welcome, but I'd prefer your own experiences.

I believe we gain a perspective of how primal or animalistic we can be after a night of getting drunk. I notice how people operate from the standpoint of how they can get these needs fulfilled. For example people tend to think of sex, food, sleep, etc and all their actions while drunk seem to directed towards these things.

I do need some time to reflect, after operating off pure uninhibited action the night before. I think its a good opportunity to get to know ourselves, our motives, and maybe reevaluate some of the things that drive us in life.

I think it has to do with the fact that you have little energy, a lack of physical sensation, and a general numbing of your entire person.

I imagine it's similar to spending some time in a floatation tank. Same difference.
