Of course it doesn't matter what you call God. I can call you Jack or Bill or Alice, but that doesn't change who you are.

God told Moses to tell the Children of Israel "I am sent me." It was Jesus hundreds of years later, speaking to that time, who told the Pharisees -- Before Abraham was I am.
It was crystal clear to the Phrases that He was claiming to be the I am that spoke to Moses from the burning bush. They went right to the math and science bit. That can't be! You are not yet 50 years old!!! They reached the amazing conclusion that there were no facts to prove what He was saying. But they did say -- "You make yourself God!" Messed up their religion and their math.
God is also God over the facts.
Call Him whatever you want; He's been spit on before; probably by better men and women than are present in this generation,
The quote by the way is: "I am that I am."

The statement means; I am a present, NOW God , not a past or future God. Many people worship a God of the past that died. And still others worship a God in the future that will some day come for them. But God is a living God of the here and now, but not too many people worship this kind of God. But his name is Lord Jesus Christ , not I am or will be and he is I AM meaning NOW!

God technically doesn't have a name. We cannot fully grasp His nature and His divinity as we are mere humans, the created. He should not be called whatever you would like to call Him because you may bring dishonor to Him

Actually he said, "I am THAT I am". As for God's name, He has many names....none of which should ever be verbalized lest one be in violation of the commandment not to talk God's name in vain.

It was Satan who said that. I already slipped it through on one of the Christian questions and it is now part of a best answer. The Devil made me do it.

Actually he said I am the great "I am".
Think of it when you say your name "I am"..... insert name here ...
We identify ourselves by a name because we are a piece of the whole. He is the whole that we come from.
Another example.
this is my arm, the arm is part of my body
I am Diane, I am a part of the body of Christ.
