in the early to mid 1900's majority of people belived in God in their heart.Evan during slavery;slaves & slave masters believed in God(although the slavemasters understanding was messed up);society as a whole still prospered and eventually slavery ended and blacks were able to contribute signicantly.
In the mid 1900 they improved cars and planes and transportation and lot of other things.Including going to the moon.But as we come upon the 90's,we have to two famous female music stars sexually kiss each other;then all the sudden society decides God is expendaple and not necessary.From there on out society goes down hill,sins more and more,waxes worse and worse.
Does it not occur to people that the reason for this is the removal of God?
Cause:Faith in God
Effect:Society prospers
Cause:Removal of Jesus Christ from society
Effect:Society slowly but surely gets worse and worse
Anyone besides christians notice this correlation?

It is a proven fact that "more educated" a person becomes their is a tendency to question the "seen and unseen". Using logic and science to discount the written journals of a few men.
Example is the Bible its self -many events and chronicles are under fire all the time. I do believe n Jesus Christ. He was a real human and a great prophet. He in "my" personal belief the son of God.
Long before and after Christ- many cultures use "demi gods" to explain the "un known" and mostly control people-since religion is more powerful than a government. People fear the unknown.
A logical person- believes in evolution, and has a hard time accepting Adam and Eve as the definitive answer for the start of humanity. The re start of humaity after the large floods that occurred in many parts of the world, yet not the entire world.
The most recent example- based on all the science the birth of Christ was in late April, the hard core evidence proves "the star" the sheep in the field, the time of census, and chronicles prove that he was born then. SO why do we honor his death at that time and not reverse it? The chronicles, show he was killed in August and his age.
What about Jesus's brothers? Being Jewish? Where is Jesus's wife? He had one and children. So where are they in this? That is just to complex. The bible was a chronicle of morality, not a history book. It was written and edited so many times that many of the "truths" have been filtered out.
As a Christian, a wife, mother and spiritual woman- I would find more peace in words of wisdom in WWJD- with kids, spouse, work, time management/dedication to the ones whom need it most. A human man with God's divine gift of reasoning, what a true blessing to have those words of wisedom.
The reality is that even with "proof". Most Christians don't want to believe in the reality of science and the reality of Christ. The Holy spirit is okay for them. And Gee moving those holidays would just suck huh!

Society is only getting worse from your point of view as it is deviating from what you feel is right as a christian. For those who do not agree with your viewpoint, society is becoming better, more tolerant and accepting. The '90s were some of the most economically prosperous times in history, is that is a benchmark of success. Advances were made in technology and medicine, art and literature. The 1900s and early 20th centruty were no picnic - world wars, genocide, nuclear disasters, famines, natural distasters. Not the fault of Christianity, but occured regardless of it.
Faith in God is a fickle thing, and does not automatically mean a better society. Often people claiming absolute faith in god do unspeakable acts. It is not what you beleive that defines you, but how you choose to act on that belief.

It's not that. It's just that the Bible doesn't adapt so society. It is too dogmatic and it doesn't address the issues in today's culture well enough. I think by the civil rights movement it had become outdated. The same people who need to be controlled still exist but there is no longer a tool strong enough to do it. Those people need someone powerful to keep them from destroying themselves and everyone else. America is waiting for a dictator.
Oh but us atheists are doing just fine though. We know how to control ourselves without dogma.

And you mean to tell me that my non-belief in your god (and all others') all came from Madonna and Brittney kissing each other, which did not happen in the nineties?
Society has gotten more and more advanced over the years because of science, and despite your god, not the other way around.

I notice the trend of which you speak. The Bible states that the majority of problems we see are a result of the influence of Satan and his demons.
We are told in Revelation 12:12 - "On this account be glad, you heavens and you who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.”
Because of this anger he wants to drag down as many as he can with him. He is doing so by a program of what some call "progressive gradualism."
Take someone who lived 100 years ago and drop them unprepared into the middle of modern society and they would be totally shocked by the things many today accept as "normal." This is because these things slowly crept into society, especially with the onset of World War I, which marked the beginning of the last days, according to Scriptural prophecy.
Just go back and watch some old TV programs, maybe I Love Lucy or the Andy Griffeth Show, and progress forward in time a few years at a time until you get to modern TV programming, and you'll see how it works.
Satan is able to do this because he is the God and ruler of this world. -- 2Corinthins 4:4; John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11; 1John 5:19.

What you are saying is so absurd that I don't know where to start. You obviously need to do a lot more thinking about cause and effect, what happened, when it happened, and why it happened. You can't make such a broad generalization about society being better or worse--you need to be more specific, like social scientists do.

What's worse? The bad things going on now went on then. There is still innovation, both social and technological. As a bi woman who loves a woman, I think society is much better for me and my wife than it used to be--we get to have jobs and live openly rather than deceive some poor man who has to support us.
Better and worse are relative things.
