The second coming of another earthly transformation as we are now evolving into more awareness. I believe that Jesus was a man with great abilities that did make a difference on this planet. Do you believe that there will be another to follow behind him with a similar role to play 2000 years later?

Raised in the Roman Catholic church until I left voluntarily at 12. Today I am more atheistic than anything. When people ask me if I am Christian, do I say yes? or no?

When god chucks em out of eden, they are the only ones on earth at that point, right? So in order to populate the earth, somebody had to have sex with Eve, or their daughter, or their sister. But then when cain kills abel, he's cast out into the world and finds a wife. Where did all those people suddenly come from?

I've never understood this at all. Any help I'll appreaciate, thanks

If Jesus could perform miracles by "thinking differently" (the original meaning of the word "repent") then surely we can do the same?

Now let me start off saying that I do not think that I am better than anyone else. I have, however been told that I have been a positive influence on others lives. A few years back, I was a very judgemental person. That was before I realized that I was not doing what Jesus wanted me to do. I was disappointing Him. I decided to be friends with anyone who wanted me for a friend. That resulted in me having a lot of friends who are not what I would call upstanding citizens in the community. But, I love them and I try to be a positive influence. I have a friend that I have known for a few years. She tells me all the time that I need to stop being friends with this person or that person because of some reason or the other. I try to explain to her and since she is a Christian, she should understand. She has started to avoid me, because of one particular person that I hang out with now. It is really hurting my feelings that she is acting like this. Why can't she understand?

I was just wondering what people think of this.

Here is the verse where God told Eve her punishment for her part in the whole tree of knowledge fruit heist (in two translations):

NIV
To the woman he said,
"I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing;
with pain you will give birth to children.
Your desire will be for your husband,
and he will rule over you."

KJV
Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

He told her that He would increase her pain in childbearing. That's what the NIV says, anyway. The KJV puts it a little differently, so I'm wondering if there might be more than one meaning.

But anyway, assuming this story is literal, could this suggest that Adam and Eve had children while they were in the Garden?

Could it be true that a shepherd, who spent most of his life on a mountain over 2000 years ago, could have got closer to the truth of what God is than we in our hectic modern life generally can? If so and if his thoughts found their way into the Bible then should we not pay some attention to what he had to say?

be god's way of testing christians sympathy towards other humans that they thought were sinful.
could it be that he wanted to test if people would care more about the speck in their own eye instead of the speck in others' eyes?

I beleive in God, first of all. I ask this question, because lately I am beginning to see that my prayers get me nowhere. Still, I am not mad at God. I just figure maybe God has already woven the future, past and present...and all that will be. Maybe our prayers aren't meant to be acknowledged sometimes if it is not in "The Master Plan" of the cosmic scheme of things. Maybe God does care, and that's why the Earth hasn't gotten hit by a comet the size of the moon yet, but maybe that's all we get. As for individuals though, I don't think God cares. I mean, we are talking about the guy that did stuff like this: http://hubblesite.org/gallery/album/nebula_collection/

Do you really think God cares about us piddly humans and our problems, except on a very broad scale (like keeping Earth suspended in orbit and filtering out space rocks that can destroy us all through the Kuiper belt), do you???

How conceited are we?

So, the Bible is pretty clear that anyone who blasphemes God is unforgiven and that salvation is possible through forgiveness.

Anyone who blasphemes against God can never reach salvation, so there is no point in preaching to them, since they are now beyond God's reach. So, the question is: When has a person permanently turned his back on God? What are possible examples of blasphemy?

This is a partial list, and I ask for people to add to this:
Denying God
Cursing God
Questioning God's plan
Falsely accusing God of an evil (such as saying, "God damn")
Claiming that God is capable of hatred
Making fun of God

This list is important, because if you've done anything to blaspheme God, then you cannot be saved. This knowledge saves everyone time.

This saves Christians time because they don't have to waste effort trying to save someone who can't be saved.
This saves nonbelievers time because they can just tell a Christian that he can't be saved.

Everyone wins.

I accept as fact that God likes humans, that is, he gets entertainment from us. However since he gave us free will there is always contention until we humans give that free will back to him, not to other humans, but to him, then we will always be able to do the right things. This is not hard once a person refuses to believe the anti-christs stance that we cannot ever do the right things because God created us flawed. He didn't you know.
