Matthew 14:28&29

Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water."

Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

Will you step out on faith in 2007 in find out that God is good?

Of course if you read the rest of that story, you know peter got to lokin around, his faith fell or waivered, and he sunk.

You dont have to sink or backslide from faith;that's a good example that faith in God is a prolonged continuos thing;not once and your done.

So how about it?Will you step out on faith in 2007 Jesus is God and can save you from the fate that you(everybody really) deserve becuase of sin. Will you believe that Jesus can answswer your prayers?

Hebrew 11:6-But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

what does your religion teach

Two pills (choose only pill 1 or pill 2 please)

Pill 1

That gives you the knowledge and understanding how the universe got here and how it works

Or

Pill 2

That makes you believe in god (and religion).

What pill would you take?

I'm a bit shocked by it, actually. I feel bad for the bad because they have to go to Hell. I mean, waves of pity here. Hell isn't a fate I'd wish on anybody. And yet when I voice this opinion, I get more thumbs down than I've ever seen in my life. And the answers all around me say "Good riddance" and "He deserves it" and "I hope he burns". I just don't think this is what Jesus would be saying, were he alive with us today. Can anybody out there give me a good argument either way? Either agreeing with me, or giving a reasonable argument showing why my logic is faulty somewhere?

Everytime I try to ask a Christian about their religion I get dismissive answers or no answers at all. I've also heard that in church you can't raise your hand and ask a question about the sermon. Why is that? I don't think my questions are offensive, I'm just curious. I guess curiosity isn't a quality Christians like...

I would like to study the science, history and archeology part of the bible by learning through classes. I have no idea which ones or where to start. I am not in a religion but I would like to read and understand the bible without asking a certain religion to interpret it for me. I would like to learn as much hebrew and what ever else I need to understand the way they used metaphors in that time. Maybe it is the science of the bible or something similar.

My friend once told me when dealing with whatever my teenage soon throws at me;
1. always keep a sense of humour.
2. choose the battles wisely.
3. whatever your teenager throws at you always remember you have taught them well.

And a Spiritual teacher once told me to not to look for faults in others but only look for faults in myself and rid my mind of these faults.
These are what i consider the best pieces of advice given to me, what are yours???

Dont you think its clearer that GOD is another words for the Universe, rather then a "single being that can do everything and anything" Which itself equates to the universe!!!

I believe that this is more accurate. I dont see there being a supreme being that is a seperate entity from the universe.

In fact if you look into some religions and beliefs . They say "god is all around you"

Therefore GOD is the UNIVERSE rather then a SUPREME BEING??

What do you think?

Jesus was a flesh-and-blood human so technically he must have had DNA. My question is...was Jesus genetically related to Mary? Or was he just a "clone" (for lack of better term) of God? In other words...if Jesus was DNA tested, would Mary be his mother and God his father? I'd really like to hear some opinions on this....and im not trying to say anything about religion or Jesus as a deity...Im just curious....

The scientific community overwhelmingly endorses evolution, which is backed by an incredible amount of evidence, and no counter examples. ID is not science because it fails to meet observations and fails to meet basic scientific criteria for a theory. Does the religious community simply think that science is unreliable?
I don't understand the skepticism, when science consistently delivers facts and religion just creates divisions and myths.

Is education that poor that people are prepared to believe myths rather than scientific facts or is it a right-side/left-side brain diference?

Science is interested in understanding nature and has a respectable process for acheiving this called the scientific method. It involves observation, theorizing, testing and peer review. How can faith be considered more reliable than this? How much faith do you put in used car salesmen? You require evidence that you aren't going to be ripped off right?

I grew up a staunch Christian. However, going to college, growing up and doing a lot of research, there seems to be absolutely no proof that Jesus or Mohamed ever existed. There seems to be no hard evidence that the Quo ran or the Bible is authentic. No person can come forward and perform a non staged miracle. Can some one prove me otherwise without making any references to the Bible or Quo ran?

According to almost all religions, we are responsible for guessing which religion is right. If we don't guess right, we go to hell. What kind of god would set up a deal like that? The loving creator who just wants to mess with yor mind?

Even if you say Jesus was 'virgin' concieved by God sperm, you can't possibly believe she remained a virgin all throughout her life.

So why does she get to retain her virgin status? That's not very fair to woman kind, is it?

Was god talking about looks or principles.
If principles why was it not perfected so we did not sin. God should have made us in totality of that image, right?
If looks - how does god look? Is he Asian like Indians or Asian like Chinese or is god African or Inuit?
Or was god talking about limbs only?
