I grew up Christian as well. I researched the historicity of Jesus. Historians in general agree that a man named Jesus probably lived. Other than the Bible, proof for his existence is scant and much of it remains questionable in the mind of major historians. I started reading books such as A History of God by Karen Armstrong who is well known authority on religion, The Power of Myth by Joseph Campbell, the NT and OT five times, Misquoting Jesus:The Story Behind Who Changed the Bible and Why by Bart Ehrman, Who Wrote the Bible by Richard E. Friedman. Both Friedman and Ehrman are well known reputable Bible scholars. From an anthropological view point, the Bible reflects the mentality of the time in which it was written. From a historical, anthropological and scientific basis you are not going to find substantive proof for God. About all that I can say about God is that man has believed in some god since ancient times. Whatever the current religion was at any given time, it incorporated much of the myth from the previous "religion". As an example, the creation story, the flood story, the concept of the trinity as well as the idea of a virgin birth appeared in the religions of various cultures prior to the birth of Jesus. If you are looking for irrefutable evidence of God or Jesus outside of the Bible, you are not going to find it. I have not done any research, however, on Mohamed.

Jesus and Mohammed did exist, however there is no proof that they were given messages from God or that Jesus was the son of God, or God himself. The followers of the two faiths have Faith that Jesus was the son or that Mohammed was the Seal of the Prophets.
Both existed there is historical evidence to that. The Bible was written by several different people and the church put together the final version about 300 years after the birth of Jesus. Since then the translations have changed the authenticity of the original, but prior to that the individual books within also went through translations. The Qur'an however is the original text, you will not find two different authenticated versions...the translations are not considered authentic. This book was written down by people who surrounded the prophet because he was illiterate.

The reason is that God is only one and perfect but humans are many and imperfect. The many interpretations come from humans not following God's guidance. Why? Some want more fame, power, pride stops them from accepting what God's word says etc The Bible foretold that after the death of the apostles, wrong teachings and unchristian practices would slowly come into practice. Men would draw away believers to follow them instead of Christ. (Matthew 7:15, 21-23; Acts 20:29, 30) This is why there are so many interpretations.

There are many signs tell you about God that exists, and yet, this God is perfect ,and he has no beginning of his existence, and he has no ending of his existence ,and he will never perish!
Just think about the finger data base of human being.
Look at sky how is holding it self with out falling down.
Think about the sun ,how it rises up from east and set down from the west.
God is not a human being but is UNIQUE Creator.
Jesus is not a God .In fact he is the son of Mary.He is also the messenger of God.
Mohamed is the prophet and the messenger of God
God(Allah) is the lord of every creation (human being, animals, every thing that exits....)If you are looking for the truth of God.Eventually God will help you to clear every thing in your head.

What evidence there is seems to strongly suggest that "Christianity" may have been deliberately created as a way to get Gentiles to tithe (the way the Jews already were).
When you consider that human nature has probably not changed that much in 2000 years, this certainly seems plausible.

Jesus did exsist. Fact. So if that is true, you can only come up with 2 conclusions, either he was insane and a fraud, or he was what he says he was, the Son of the Living God.
I choose to believe the latter.

Bible authentic in what sense? Some of the history is real, some is made-up. That's a very broad question.

Who do we think we are to demand proof of such an event as the advent of God or anyone of His prophets? When you board a plane, there is no proof that it will take you to your destination, all you have is FAITH that it will. We are so minute compare to the Supreme that demanding "proof" of His activities only shows how inflated our ego is.

There's a difference between religion and faith. Religion was created by man, to be used to control other men. Faith is what's in your heart. When you learn to give up religion and have faith, you will realize that the tools of religion are just that; tools. Faith is the power that gets the job done. Stop worrying about the tools of man and go with your heart.

There needn't be any proof, but that Jesus as a person existed is a fact. The same is true for Mohammed.
THE IMPORTANT THING, HOWEVER, IS TO BELIEVE!
