According to Catholic Records he was a pope. I don't know that this is accurate. I do know that historical records say that he did not feel worthy of dieing on the cross in the mannerf that Jesus was crucified. Have a great Lord's Day.

According to what I have heard, he decided to be crucified upside down because they wanted to crucify him but he though it would be too much of an honor to die exactly the way Jesus did, so he died upside down for variation.
