Meditation I believe is a type of prayer that is more like analyzing, pondering, and thinking about spiritual matters. People say, meditate on the word, or meditate, using their mantra, or let's meditate on what we just heard. I think it is just processing and organizing your spiritual thoughts in a deeper level.

Deep thought and reflection. You can do it on a certain problem, or you can just meditate on a peaceful state of being, like imagining you are adrift on water...weightless and serene. Some people chant mantras and such to put their minds in another state of consciousness.
